To get the rage at 3/4 length sleeve jumpers

Why why? If I'm buying a jumper to keep me warm l want full length sleeves to cover my arms. Why don't my lower arms count or need keeping warm? Are they different in some way?

I reckon it's a cost thing.

I hate full length sleeve jumpers. Makes me feel all claustrophobic. Even when I buy full length I push them up.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/04/2014 10:20

YABU. Another sleeve pusher upper here :)

ElleMcFearsome · 07/04/2014 10:22

Yep, I push my sleeves up to - sorry OP Grin

ElleMcFearsome · 07/04/2014 10:22

*too!

YouHaveBeenOutbid · 07/04/2014 10:23

I'm with you OP! It's definitely a cost thing, skinny this, cropped that... drives me crazy.

3DcAndMe · 07/04/2014 10:23

I dislike them because my arms are short like the rest of me! So they don't fall in the right place

EverythingsDozy · 07/04/2014 10:23

I also push my sleeves up! My DMum and I like 3/4 length sleeves. Not sure about her but I must have abnormally long arms so full length sleeves are too short and look like they've shrunk in the wash.

GreenLandsOfHome · 07/04/2014 10:24

I never wear long sleeves.

Any wrist length sleeves are pushed up to just below my elbows, full length sleeves get right on my last nerve

HobbetInTheHeadlights · 07/04/2014 10:24

I'm currently wearing a jumper that I have automatically pushed the sleeves up on.

3/4 length sleeves apparently suit my shape anyway.

YABU

But where are you looking as I don't often see these.

Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:25

But isn't the function of a jumper to keep you warm? All bits of you? Including the lower arms? What's different or special about them?

I have arms like a gibbon. Normal jumper sleeves aren't long enough on me. 3/4 length stop at my elbows

Hate three quarters of anything! Full length everything for me ta ;)

Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:26

I've been looking for a white/cream cardi. They all have 3/4 length sleeves

OP posts:
EverythingsDozy · 07/04/2014 10:30

Yeah but you can say that about those fingerless gloves too! And footless tights.
What about when you're doing the washing up and don't want to get your sleeves wet? I have full length sleeves that are too baggy to be able to roll up. Or when you're washing your hands after using the toilet?

Shodan · 07/04/2014 10:31

Totally with you OP. It doesn't help that I have broad shoulders, so sleeves are generally a bit short anyway.

Many a time I've been muttering about cold wrists and tsking at the stupidity of jumpers with 3/4 length sleeves...

Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:33

this or this why?.

OP posts:
HobbetInTheHeadlights · 07/04/2014 10:33

Hmm - I wonder if I need a new cardi.

No - I don't notice but did used to think the same way about very low V necks - they whole wouldn't you get cold. Now I wear them - I know it's not an issue.

Morgause · 07/04/2014 10:34

I'm only little so they are full length on me. I love them. Grin

Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:34

Well fingerless gloves bug me too! I never ever seem to have a problem with washing up and full length sleeves.

I do have a problem with cold wrists though

OP posts:
bigbadbarry · 07/04/2014 10:35

I trail cuffs in stuff so I like 3/4 length. Sorry.

noddyholder · 07/04/2014 10:36

I love them feels really elegant for some reason

CecilyP · 07/04/2014 10:38

Yes, I'm with you, OP. I have to reject loads of styles I like because of those pesky 3/4 length sleeves.

Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:39

They look elegant, but the purpose of them is pretty shit.

OP posts:
MaidOfStars · 07/04/2014 10:40

Love 3/4 sleeves, way more than full length ones. And not all jumpers are intended only for warmth.

Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:41

Well what are they intended for?

OP posts:
Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:47

I have a degree in Fashion, and spent years as a designer. I now teach design.

The cornerstones of good design are aesthetics v function . A 3/4 length sleeve jumper is not functional IMO. The other design philosophy is form follows function. Again 3/4 length sleeves do not do this.
