To get the rage at 3/4 length sleeve jumpers

Orangeanddemons · 07/04/2014 10:18

Why why? If I'm buying a jumper to keep me warm l want full length sleeves to cover my arms. Why don't my lower arms count or need keeping warm? Are they different in some way?

I reckon it's a cost thing.

i love my gilet/bodywarmer Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 07/04/2014 17:12

i have been known to wear at the same time:

long-sleeved t-shirt
3/4 sleeve jumper
gilet
wristwarmers

you will all hunt me down Grin

OnlyLovers · 07/04/2014 17:15

Don't get me started on fucking gilets.

I mean, how are you even supposed to say it, let alone know what they're for? apart from making people look like immersion heaters with limbs

MrsKoala · 07/04/2014 17:15

My sister bought DS a really expensive, padded, hooded, fur lined/collared body warmer for his 1st birthday and he has never worn it. What weather would possibly warrant needing your trunk to be that insulated and not your arms? What would he wear under it? Bizarre.

MidLifeCrys1s · 07/04/2014 17:16

Can't bear full length sleeves trapping my wrists. Don't wear a wristwatch or bracelets for the same reason. I push sleeves up in order to be able to think, so I feel really sorry for the kids at my school who are always told off for pushing sleeves up; that's one uniform rule I can't, in all conscience, enforce.

=D MrsK I am currently a lardbag, having fallen off the bootcamp into a vat of carbs over the last 2 weeks. But my wrists are still slim #delusional

HolidayCriminal · 07/04/2014 19:15

I couldn't wear long sleeves until my mid 20s (grew up in a warm climate, too).

But now I have the rage with OP, lol.
Well, not really. But 3/4 length is for summer or as layers or worn over something with proper sleeve length the other 11 months of the yr.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 07/04/2014 19:15

I love 3/4 sleeves. Full length bunch round your wrists and interfere with your typing, and hang out of your coat sleeves, and are generally really annoying Angry. Whereas a bracelet sleeve showcases my elegant wrists and hands .

puntasticusername · 07/04/2014 19:21

YANBU. Neither one thing nor t'other. Why can't jumpers just fucking COMMIT?

Bowlersarm · 07/04/2014 19:23

Ooh you are so not being unreasonable.

I hate 3/4 length.

Past my wrists and into my hands is the perfect length.

Chesntoots · 07/04/2014 19:30

I'm a sleeve roller-upper too.

BriarRainbowshimmer · 07/04/2014 19:31

YANBU I think it looks like the company wanted to save money + give people cold wrists.
I like really long sleeves. Which I roll up Confused But that means the lenght is adjustable unlike with 3/4

tznett · 07/04/2014 19:37

YANBU. Short-sleeved jumpers are even worse... what's the point of them? Confused

BriarRainbowshimmer · 07/04/2014 19:39

Yes what's the point of those? Other than being useful as an extra warm t-shirt in winter - under a real jumper

nocheeseinhouse · 07/04/2014 19:51

If you have to be bare below the elbow at work, 3/4 lengths are good!

NobodyLivesHere · 07/04/2014 19:58

Three quarter length sleeves on coats. Fucking stupid.

Itsfab · 07/04/2014 20:04

Just about every jumper I have seen lately is 3/4 length sleeves and it just seems like the manufacturers want to give as little as they can while charging as much as possible.

Same with coke. Smaller sized bottles for the same size as 2 litres as "coke wanted to charge more but weren't allowed." So now we can pay £1.89 for less than usual when even £1.89 was a rip off for 2 litres.

Back on jumpers, what is with the short front and long back combo as well?

BriarRainbowshimmer · 07/04/2014 20:08

Fashun

hollyisalovelyname · 07/04/2014 20:10

I get the rage too.
I hate my wrists cold .
Please put full sleeves on cashmere cardis

tznett · 07/04/2014 20:13

Oh and shrugs (for the same price as a long tunic jumper!) The open-knit short sleeved shrug... is it the least possible fabric you can use to make a saleable garment? Grin

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 07/04/2014 20:21

I wore a 3/4 sleeve jacket today and was thinking how much I like it. Wouldn't wear a 3/4 coat though.

tiredandsadmum · 07/04/2014 21:26

I hate 3/4 sleeves, always pulling them down. They ride up under cardies. So give me short sleeve or proper long sleeve :)

deste · 07/04/2014 22:58

I am completely with you. Why would you think of designing a warm dress but have three quarter sleeves, it doesn't make sense.
