Not aibu need traffic. I was up feeding baby when i could hear a shed door banging. Looked outside window and next doors got someone walking around their garden with a torch. They have an outhouse/jucuzzi ect so expensive stuff. I forget lights on therefor i can be seen lookig out. Pretty sure torch was directed at my window which has scared me. Not sure whether to call 101 or not ?? What would you do??

Yep 999, if it was your neighbour shining light up to your room, they would have seen you looking and given you a big wave, but seriously what would they be doing out in garden at this hour of night,

Why would the neighbour be in the garden with a torch in the middle of the night? Call the police, then ring the neighbour's house

I have no idea. That doesn't mean it couldn't be the neighbor. Maybe they are having an emergency and need something from the shed. We had a water leak that my husband had to fix at 2am one time. If we kept the tools in a shed, he'd have been out there looking for them.

Im at a disadvantage all i could see was a torch they would have seen more

The actual house is in darkness thats their cabin

Are any of your neighbours outside lights switched on? Surely if they were out at the shed they'd have turned on the lights at the back of their house too etc?
Are they still there? ( turn off your light and peep out window)
I'd still phone police just in case.

Sorry just see you said their house is in darkness, in which case just phone the police. Whoever it was has probably long gone now but you should phone the police anyway I think.
Although I will admit to being paranoid about this type of thing as we had an attempted burglary a few months ago when I was up feeding baby in middle of night.

Thank you for resppnses im juat far too frightened.to call very paranoid itll come back on me. I think (hopefully) they were scared off or fell into neighbors pond as torch turned off abruptly. The bang ive established were theyre gate opening.

Well I hope if anyone is seen prowling round in your garden they aren't too scared to do the right thing

I don't understand why you didn't call the police

You've watched someone in your next door neighbours garden potentially stealing their stuff and haven't called the police?

So someone was potentially attempting to burgle your neighbour and you decided not to call the police because the would be thief might know it was you who saw them and called the police?!

Chances are if they know you saw them they will assume you called anyway, as that is what most people should do.

Let's hope they don't come back and decided to try and break into your house instead.
