To think that changing your NN to take a pop at someone...

XmasLogAndHollyOn · 06/12/2013 08:49

Makes you a giant stinky chicken shit.

Seriously. Huge example of this yesterday. Someone changed their NN just to have a go at someone else. Not only that, but they even made their new NN well snidey to match what they thought of the other poster.

Seriously folks. If you want to argue with someone, or bitch at someone or kvetch about someone, at least have the strength of character to do it in your usual NN.

Changing to a snide name to make snide comments makes you look like Queen Cunt of Cuntington, and makes you lose any of the moral high ground that you may be sitting on in your head.

Its childish, its cowardly and it makes you a giant stinky chicken shit.

Oh damn it! What did I miss?

Oh YANBU.

XmasLogAndHollyOn · 06/12/2013 09:02

Indeed. I am riled. It's such an unpleasant thing to do, that someone who was pretty unpleasant would do it.

Monetbyhimself · 06/12/2013 09:04

And presumably you challenged them directly on that thread and reported the thread ?

SirChenjin · 06/12/2013 09:06

I don't know - some posters write such utter shite that it might, on occasion, be justified Grin

XmasLogAndHollyOn · 06/12/2013 09:07

Yes I reported them to HQ, before you get all sanctimonious on my arse.

This thread is about the PRINCIPLE of the thing.

So, Monet, do you think it is reasonable or unreasonable to change your name to something snide just to have a go at someone else.

A yes or no will do. TIA.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/12/2013 09:09

Im pretty sure there is someone who does this to have a go at me regularly.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/12/2013 09:09

YANBU

BOF · 06/12/2013 09:10

Ah, shite, who cares? It obviously makes them look ridiculous and over-invested.

I can't actually namechange without asking HQ, so I don't bother, because I got specially granted this name after begging them. Someone had it from years ago, but never posted with it.

I have to admit that it does make me very slightly more polite Grin

Delurkedforthis · 06/12/2013 09:14

I am broadly in sympathy with your point Hollyon, but Monet cannot possibly answer your question with a yes or no because which bit would she be saying yes (or no) to: reasonable or unreasonable?

Insufferably pedantic, moi?

Pancakeflipper · 06/12/2013 09:14

YANBU but thankfully most people on here would see it and think that poster is a nasty spiteful type and ignore their POV

XmasLogAndHollyOn · 06/12/2013 09:20

Grin there's always place in my heart for a bit of pedantry, so long as you don't change your nn to "grammatically incorrect idiot" to pull me up on it.

OP posts:
Delurkedforthis · 06/12/2013 09:21

Don't think I wasn't tempted Hollyon Xmas Grin

DeepThought · 06/12/2013 09:24

yy it is wanky and cowardly

yanbu

mrsjay · 06/12/2013 09:25

I honestly couldnt be arsed to name change to be nasty of course i can be as snippy as everybody else on here and if somebody has annoyed me I will say it as my own name to seek somebody out just to be nasty is childish and really isnt on

XmasLogAndHollyOn · 06/12/2013 09:26

Wanky and cowardly sums it up nicely!

OP posts:
HepsiBaubleMistletoes · 06/12/2013 09:27

YANBU. Boils my piss when it's so fucking blatant.

chocolatemademefat · 06/12/2013 09:29

unimpressed with your choice of language. I save the C word for special occassions............

Trills · 06/12/2013 09:30

We all live in a yellow submarine

Pagwatch · 06/12/2013 09:32

YANBU
It is really cowardly. If you are not prepared to say something under your regular name then you should think twice about posting it at all. Namechanging should be for fun or for privacy issues only.

I also hate 'I am name changing because this might be controversial/I might get flamed'
You might as well post 'I am name changing because I m a weak ass piece of shite who lacks any conviction at ll'

Someone once pm'd me saying I had upset them and then kept hinting about who they were in a 'I am a regular and am friends with someone you know well in real life' way. I was boggled. I still don't know what the fuck that was all about

Pagwatch · 06/12/2013 09:34

Can you give me the cunt occasions? I missed a memo.
I thought a cunt was for all year, not just for Chistmas ?

mrsjay · 06/12/2013 09:35

hate that I am going to get flamed but i am a regular be nice to me fuck off just stop it,

YouTheCat · 06/12/2013 09:36

Pag, that would annoy me no end. Why not just say who you are? Confused

Name changing to have a pop at someone is the lowest of the low.

Pagwatch · 06/12/2013 09:38

I know YouTheCat.
It's not as if I would send people around to her house

sparklysilversequins · 06/12/2013 09:39

I'd be ashamed to do it. Shows a real weakness in you as a person.

XmasLogAndHollyOn · 06/12/2013 09:41

Its OK chocolate. Where I live, today is genuinely Día Nacional Cunt and its marked on my calendar by me just now so its OK. Grin
