To think that changing your NN to take a pop at someone...

XmasLogAndHollyOn · 06/12/2013 08:49

Makes you a giant stinky chicken shit.

Seriously. Huge example of this yesterday. Someone changed their NN just to have a go at someone else. Not only that, but they even made their new NN well snidey to match what they thought of the other poster.

Seriously folks. If you want to argue with someone, or bitch at someone or kvetch about someone, at least have the strength of character to do it in your usual NN.

Changing to a snide name to make snide comments makes you look like Queen Cunt of Cuntington, and makes you lose any of the moral high ground that you may be sitting on in your head.

Its childish, its cowardly and it makes you a giant stinky chicken shit.

(My nn is also Yiddish - means matriarch of the household)

ZingSweetPea · 06/12/2013 11:36

and to answer your question OP YANBU.

it's cowardly. I NC a lot for fun, but I'm always recognisable.
I'd NC completely if asking about something very personal/embarrassing, but not to be harassing someone.

and I have a Stalker/Nemesis - we harass each other openly. we agreed to do it coz we find it funny.
I tend to scare her with my CreepyAsFuckDog.
I wish I could do that to more people, it's highly entertaining.Grin

randomAXEofkindness · 06/12/2013 11:38

Agree op. Spineless.

The posters getting 'upset' with other peoples posts are missing the point a bit.

Maybe I'll be more tactful from now on though, in case someone sends the 'big boys' round Xmas Grin... Your hair looks nice pag...

You've got it all wrong.

Olivia will just cough a polite "ahem" and the twins will slide effortlessly into the arms of the waiting MW. Olivia will then fix her hair, reapply her lippy and gaze lovingly at Tarquin and Tarquinita sleeping soundly in their crib.

TooTabooHasBigShinyBaubles · 06/12/2013 12:46

Oh and YANBU OP, utter cuntheads.

ZingSweetPea · 06/12/2013 12:57

Grin @ Tarquinita

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 06/12/2013 13:04

If I think you're a tit I'll say it but I'll do it under this name, my usual non de plume at present as I want you to know I think your a tit if that's how a post has made me feel. To go to so much hassle of changing, posting, changing back to re-argue etc well, life's to freakin short for that!

Wuf wuf wuf (lil' Essex scrapper pooch with diamanté collars n cuffs)

HowlingTrap · 06/12/2013 13:06

you have to tell us the NN :)

royalmailspecialdelivery · 06/12/2013 13:21

If by some accident you mean me, I namechanged following a huge flaming which I don't think I deserved, and didn't pop at anyone Wink In fact I said several times I was going to stay away from revenge flaming. If you mean someone else, as you were Wink

TotallyBursar · 06/12/2013 14:26

I have developed an unfortunate paranoid twitch when 'Totally' is used in a post as I'm often referred to as just that.
If the post starts off with totally & particularly if it's unhappy I get the 30 second sweats trying to dredge up what I could have said to offend.
I will call a cunt a cunt, but if I do I own it and want you to know I mean it, equally if I'm the cunt I need to own that & take my stripes.
I have other names from before but apart from my Christmas name once I change I don't reuse them.
I may not be well known etc (no gripe here about that, I don't post a huge amount & often at odd times ) but I am honest & that is being accountable for good or bad.

Thing is apart from very, very few posters I would like to see banished I can often argue the toss with you on one thread & agree completely with you on another, I don't hold grudges in the main. That style of thread by thread posting seems to be getting less common and often one petty disagreement gets dragged around by it's scruff.

Op yanbu.

ZingSweetPea · 06/12/2013 14:33

totally agree with you!

(see what I did there?Wink )

Haaa, I see whut you did thar! Grin

What will get me pounded is - I had the perfect cat meme to answer that and absolutely would have posted it even on AIBU Shock

YouTheCat · 06/12/2013 15:54

The world needs more cat memes. Grin

I also totally agree, Totally.

turtleytwostep · 06/12/2013 16:24

I'm sure Olivia mumsnet has better things to do than moderate 12 posters and their many sock puppets Grin.

I am a little miffed not to find out who gets to wear the giant stinky chicken shit hat though Smile
