Just seen the advert for her Christmas album. 'Oh come let us adore him' indeed. Rarrrr.

(feeling irritated.....)

Your point?

thebody · 24/11/2013 19:58

why? if poor old cliff is still jigging and singing and looking ridiculous why shouldn't Susan who is a far far better singer go for it.

MrsLouisTheroux · 24/11/2013 19:58

Hmm. YABU. Not my thing but people like her & she's good at what she does.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 24/11/2013 19:59

Yeah, she should totally give up. It's not like millions of people worldwide buy her albums, is it? Or that her singing shits all over the majority of pop puppets currently in the charts? Or that she's struggled her whole bloody life to be accepted?

Oh, wait, hang on...

BeautifulBrinySea · 24/11/2013 20:02

Why should she? YABU.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 24/11/2013 20:04

What was it that you thought she was doing badly?

ReallyTired · 24/11/2013 20:05

If people like her music then she should continue. Susan has fought against every disadvantage to get to where she is.

Good luck to her!

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/11/2013 20:06

Oh goddammit. Fair enough. Iabu.

Dumpylump · 24/11/2013 20:08

Ok, just don't buy the album. Simples. I've seen her perform live - kind of accidentally. She's not my cup of tea, but she has a remarkable stage presence and her voice is absolutely beautiful.

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/11/2013 20:08

I think she opens her mouth wierdly. And my mum sings along badly

Still. Thats not enough is it?

CuppaTeaForTheBigFella · 24/11/2013 20:08

Not my thing at all, but I agree with others...there will be plenty of people buying her albums.
Good for her I say, she's doing something she loves and earning a lot of money from it :-)

Heartbrokenmum73 · 24/11/2013 20:09

Shove a crumpet in your Mum's mouth. Job done Grin

Twighlightsparkle · 24/11/2013 20:10

YABU

Each to their own and all that.

WireCat · 24/11/2013 20:10

You are mean.

itscockyfoxagain · 24/11/2013 20:11

I'm not a big fan (mainly because I do a far better rendition of I dreamed a dream) but she is very popular and there are many worse singers out there.

Scarletohello · 24/11/2013 20:11

A&e seeing that moment when everyone had mocked her during her audition and then... She sings. Still makes me cry! I have nothing but good feelings for her.

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/11/2013 20:11

Good ppoint cuppa in which case i'm rather jealous.

The 'oh come let us adore him' will only encourage my totally tone deaf mother. She likes all those religious songs.

I think i was put off by 'I dreamed a dream'.

BabyMummy29 · 24/11/2013 20:12

YABU considering the shit time she had growing up she's done really well. Unlike many pop wannabe "stars" on rubbish like X Factor etc, she can actually sing and seems like a nice person

Heartbrokenmum73 · 24/11/2013 20:13

It was the same when Jonathan & Charlottle walked on Scarlet. Did you see that? Simon Cowell muttered something about Jonathan under his breath...and then Jonathan started singing.

What.a.voice.

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/11/2013 20:13

Oh god. IABU and I'm mean. Gah.

MrsBramleyApple · 24/11/2013 20:13

I think she is amazing. As the mother of a child with a learning difficulty I can really empathise with how well she has done........ Smile

morethanpotatoprints · 24/11/2013 20:18

She is only mediocre but people bought into her. She is not doing that well tbh.
Her family members are managing her business and her last tour dates were pulled due to lack of ticket sales and problems within the family/management.
I think as a product of the usual hyped wannabes she piqued a while back. Now for the rapid decline, me thinks. Sad
I don't like her because she is no good, but I feel sorry for the manufactured singers and entertainers. They aren't used to the life, it must be a shock to them.

CuppaTeaForTheBigFella · 24/11/2013 20:34

Yep, I'm very jealous too notta
But on another note, your Mum sounds really funny haha Grin

Sparrowlegs248 · 24/11/2013 21:15

No. No, not funny at all! Well, maybe a bit - when she sings along to the Proclaimers in a crap scottish accent and not really knowing the words

'When i wake up! Well i no na nanna na i nana na na na na na na na wee yooooo! '

I thought that done dates were cancelled due to her MH state, which is the effect of instant fame.

I have tickets to see her in March, I am not into religious stuff.

I wouldn't thank you for S Brightman, or would say that SB is mediocre, when compared with what is generally produced.

It is a shame that she wasn't picked up earlier, I think that further investment is needed to keep Theatre and performing arts (of all sorts), going.

The audience for live performances, might be small, so as not to make much m
