AIBU ... to STILL feel positively evangelical about electronic cigarettes? [thread 2]

Here we go with thread two.

There is a great deal of information on Thread One about vaping :

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1865547-to-feel-positively-evangelical-about-electronic-cigarettes?pg=1

I think that many of us have been able to give up smoking thanks to e-cigs & vaping & are all feeling the positive results & want to spread the message.

Maggie, I've found it surprisingly easy. I had a few sneaky cigarettes the first two weeks to finish the last of the packet. The last one I smoked I couldn't finish it because it tasted so disgusting. Since then i haven't wanted a cigarette once. How have you found it?

I gave up last year for 3 months using a cig a like and wanted a cigarette constantly. I didn't get a good enough throat hit from them I don't think.

I have a 10ml bottle of bubblegum with about 1/3 in if anyone wants it? I hate it and have been forcing myself to use it. If someone else used it I wouldn't get the guilt for wasting it.

Cantabile · 23/11/2013 10:27

If you mix it with tobacco flavour it will just add a soupcon of sweetness to that. It will help you get rid of it if you have no takers.

MaggieMcGill · 23/11/2013 12:11

Wonderwhy Yeah, me too. I tried everything from that Allan Carr book to Champix but never managed to stay stopped and I always seemed to get to the weekend and have a sneaky few. I stopped on the 2nd October, I had a blip a few weeks in when I went to the pub then I had a fag a few weeks ago because I wanted to see if I liked it (unfortunaly I still did) but that's been it. I'm really quite proud of myself Grin

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 23/11/2013 21:14

FunnysInLaJardin well done! That's brilliant Flowers

Maggie that's one of the things I like best about vaping. I know that even if the worst happened - all my kit failed on a boozy night out and I ended up having a fag or three - I would go straight back to vaping the next day and not do the walk of shame to the nearest tobacconists.

Tonight's Dekang flavour is HuangHeLou which I think is nicer than last night's one. Good dry tobacco flavour, no nasty pongy overtones. Very good throat hit for 16mg. I might actually prefer this to RY4, the test will come in the morning. I think this might be the last of the dekang tobacco flavours I have to test, I still have quite a few non-tobacco flavours to go Smile

What are other people vaping? I'm currently on RY4 with a splosh of RY6 during the day, something strange that I ordered from fasttech in the early evening and then cinnamon apple and vanilla after dinner.

MaggieMcGill · 24/11/2013 20:16

Where has everyone went?

Plenty that is exactly how I feel too. I don't want to beat myself up too much if I have a fag because I know I won't keep smoking but I just do not honestly want one anymore. I'm going away with two smokers in January for my birthday so that will be interesting but I'm not that bothered if I smoke. I know when I get back I'll go back to vaping. I prefer it.

Actually, once again I have been fannying about with batteries. It seems that my new one takes a lot longer to charge than the old ones work. I have spent most of today going around the house changing batteries. Hopefully my FT order will be sitting on my desk tomorrow wishfull thinking

QueenStromba · 25/11/2013 00:10

Has anyone received anything from FT lately - just wondering how long the postage times are.

MaggieMcGill · 25/11/2013 10:46

Woo Hoo!Grin My Fasttech order is here dances round the office

Cantibile, your caramel liquid is in the post. Hopefully you'll get it tomorrow. My neighbour took the other liquid but wasn't very impressed with the coffee flavours.

WTFlike · 25/11/2013 18:15

I'm in Ireland and have been buying 100ml liquids for €13.99. I was having a look at UK sites and can't see anything for a similar price, so thought I'd share the link - the postage to UK seems very reasonable and I've had great service from them.

They do smaller bottles so you could try flavours first.
www.bargainvapour.com/The_100ml_sale!/cat1274300_1558093.aspx

I use this B&H type one, it's strong and has a nice throat hit.

WTFlike · 25/11/2013 18:16

Soz Bargain Vapour

Gorja · 25/11/2013 18:42

I have an evape kit that came with two of the bits you put the liquids in. I dropped one of them and the bit you put liquid in broke and leaked so I bought some new ones on ebay but they don't seem as good and after only a few tries they taste burnt if that makes sense???
What have I done wrong?? I am getting very confused looking at all the different sites. What I want is a few of the bits you put the liquid in so I can change flavour as I get bored..... Short attention and taste span I think.

Can anybody help
Please?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 25/11/2013 20:46

Yay Maggie! Woohoo! What did you get?

Queen, I had an order that arrived a couple of weeks ago, that took 22 days from being marked as 'shipped'. That went via the Black Hole of Hong Kong Post though, and they've just stopped using them.

I have another order which I hope will ship tomorrow - one item is holding it up - that's due to go via Singapore post so no idea how long that will take. Fingers crossed!

Gorja - which kit did you get? Do you have a link for what you've bought? If you want a few cheapy things for trying lots of flavours I can recommend gs-h2 clearos. There are lots on ebay and they are really cheap.

IF ANYONE WANTS THEM IN THE NEXT 27 MINUTES THIS AUCTION LOOKS CHEAP

Cantabile · 25/11/2013 21:59

Thank you Maggie!

WTF, thanks for that link. My brother has given up on the Skycigs as the batteries last about 4 hours and he gets through at least 2 cartos (?) a day, so I think I'll get him a big bottle of liquid to go with the Vgo2 that he's just ordered!

magimedi · 25/11/2013 22:17

Sky cigs are not very good - I gave up smoking with them & was then getting through a minimum of 3 cartos a day. V. expensive - am so glad I moved to vaping.

OP posts:
WTFlike · 26/11/2013 00:45

I used one like a Sky cig when I first started. If you prise off the top 'lid' you can refill them. I used a nail scissors to get it off. Then re-used them for months, but agree the batteries are crap.

I'm using one of the cheap CE4's now and the charge lasts the day.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 26/11/2013 09:12

Can I draw all vapers' attention to the new proposed EU regulation of ecigs. What is being proposed is effectively an outright ban.

From Clive Bates' blog ...

Late last week the European Commission circulated a confidential new proposal for regulating e-cigarettes. The document was sent only to those negotiating the future of e-cigarettes behind closed doors in Brussels – representatives of the European Parliament and European Council. This isn’t a final proposal, but it provides the negotiators with something to discuss. The Nicotine Science and Policy website has obtained the document, and it is here. It is quite frankly appalling – lacking any legitimacy in public health or internal market policy-making… Make no mistake, if implemented this proposal bans every product on the market today and would severely limit options for future products - and may make it commercially unviable to develop in future.

Please visit the blog on the link above for further details of the proposals and what you can do to help prevent them becoming law.

KungFuBustle · 26/11/2013 09:42

Will be looking at that blog and seeing what we can do Plenty. Ty for the link.

I've managed to drop from the 24 strength to the 16. Very pleased. I enjoy vaping but I'm going hours without, never managed that on fags. Going to get some nic free stuff with a view to coming off completely. I've got a friend about to try too.

Makes me cross that they're trying to take this away when for some it's the best and dare I say only way they can get off the fags. Love how they'll move to regulate vaping so tightly we can't do it, but we an buy cigarettes and have as many of them as we want!

On a personal note, my lord I'm looking good. Skin and eyes are bright and clear. I actually look a fair bit younger, wish I'd took before and after pics. I had blackheads and bags under my eyes. I used good scrubs, neutrogina etc, no need anymore.

QueenStromba · 26/11/2013 09:49

They really are a bargain WTF. I'll be buying my nicotine from them once my big bottle runs out.

Have you been leaving the clearos for ten minutes to soak the liquid in before you use them the first time Gorja?

QueenStromba · 26/11/2013 09:51

Actually, reading about the EU proposals maybe I should buy some now.

Jux · 26/11/2013 11:26

Draconian, prescriptive, illogical, and foolish. Hypocritical. I am drafting a response to those proposals! Any other words you think appropriate (which I could actually include, that is!)?

Ooh ooh - intolerant.

QueenStromba · 26/11/2013 11:37

Regressive.

OneStepCloserIWillExterminate · 26/11/2013 11:38

Right am sitting here tapping my fingers waiting for the postman to deliver my vape. After reading these threads I have been persuaded to try Grin

Will report back once I`m up and running.

KungFuBustle · 26/11/2013 11:44

Good luck Onestep.

QueenStromba · 26/11/2013 13:15

Sweet - I just won 5 GS-H2s for £3.80!

Jux · 26/11/2013 15:55

That's a good one, Queen. I'll work it in....

Jux · 26/11/2013 17:18

Infantilising, unenlightened.
