AIBU ... to STILL feel positively evangelical about electronic cigarettes? [thread 2]

magimedi · 15/11/2013 22:02

Here we go with thread two.

There is a great deal of information on Thread One about vaping :

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1865547-to-feel-positively-evangelical-about-electronic-cigarettes?pg=1

I think that many of us have been able to give up smoking thanks to e-cigs & vaping & are all feeling the positive results & want to spread the message.

I got an itaste kit, still trying to work out how to work it though!

DizzyZebra · 04/01/2014 22:09

Draco is it the itaste vv? If so i can promise you you will NOT regret that. I bought it last week and it is by far my favourite.

Its really easy to use once you fond your way around. Id recommend just sticking to wattage. So press the plus button and the power button till it goes into wattage mode (where it has a P and a number). Just hold the plus button once you've done that till it says p and a number and press plus or minus until you get the best flavour out of it.

I absolutely am in love with it i think theyre one of the best. I have an iclear 16 clearo and an iclear 30 b and they both work beautifully on it.

PfftTheMagicDraco · 05/01/2014 00:06

Dizzy, yes it is!

Have been using it this evening and found that I have smoked much less. I am thinking about it a lot, but I think that's because it's on my mind. Trying to get the flavour right, but they really need steeping I have been told (wanted to check it out though anyway). Will buy some more flavours online Smile

DizzyZebra · 05/01/2014 02:49

It is a brilliant little device i reckon and the clearos are very very good quality - i can burn coils out very quickly if im at home all day with nothing to do, ill sit reading and vaping away lol but so far ive not burnt any out and they give consistently good flavour. Even the iclear 16 is fantastic which is a top coil so you're fighting gravity with the juice having to travel upwards. I am seriously impressed with the quality of the products.

Had dekang peach in it earlier which is lovely, id not tried the peach before. Bought a strawberry liquid on sale which i think ill put with some spearmint as its not great on its own for me.

PfftTheMagicDraco · 05/01/2014 09:19

I havent even thought of mixing the liquids. It's very strange for me, the taste. I did stand at the back door and vape this morning, like I normally would smoke. Grin

McNo · 05/01/2014 09:25

I have been reading this thread and have decided to try this. I have smoked for years and have tried all of the nrt options. I enjoy the time out from work, child etc that smoking gives me so this may work for me.

I noticed our town has opened a shop so supplies would be easy to get Smile

magimedi · 05/01/2014 09:30

Go for it, McNo. Your shop will give you lots of help & explain things to you.

I don't think I would have ever managed to quit without vaping.

Thank you. Just reading this thread and knowing that there are others there for advice will really help me.

I have spent the morning looking at starter kits, all the links have been really useful. Can't wait to get started

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/01/2014 11:00

Good luck McNo! I'm Xmas Envy at those of you who have a shop nearby.

Dizzy how are you managing to burn out so many coils? Confused I've had one burn out in 3 months! I change them when they get crudded up and performance drops but only one has stopped firing altogether.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/01/2014 11:05

Here's a thing I don't understand about these itaste batteries ... If I want to vary the wattage I press the button marked P and if I want to vary the voltage, I press the button marked U Xmas Confused

DizzyZebra · 05/01/2014 12:38

Plenty - Its when in bored and i chain vape. The top coils weren't getting chance to absorb liquid. Bottom coils work much better.

I'm not sure what ive done to my itaste battery but its giving me some weird message. Hmmmm.

Weelady77 · 05/01/2014 12:50

I'm new to vaping got my pen thing middle of December and I like it but I find my self constantly using it!! It's never out my mouth during the day! I'm still smoking one cig a day too (except today I've none) I don't like it when I'm smoking it but I just feel it gives me more of hit first thing in the morning or maybe it's in my head?!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/01/2014 13:10

It's not in your head, Weelady. You do get a much more intense nicotine hit from a cig than from a vapouriser. I saw a graph once. Smile

Weelady77 · 05/01/2014 13:17

Should a vaporiser be puffed constantly? Or should it be puffed like a cig then put down?? Like I said in new to this Smile

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/01/2014 13:32

I don't think there's much of a right or wrong way to do it Weelady. Most people seem to spend longer vaping than they did smoking. For me it's little and often, so I'm using it every few minutes but only a couple of drags.

McNo · 05/01/2014 14:29

I have noticed a few link to paradisevape. Is paradisevape in the uk? How long does delivery normally take? Thanks

DizzyZebra · 05/01/2014 14:41

Same as plenty for me. I only chain vape if ive nothing to do. If im busy ill just have a puff or two every now and again.

Plenty - The U is meant to be a v. I assume they use p for power or something.

QueenStromba · 05/01/2014 14:52

Paradise Vape are in the UK - as far as I remember they post within a day or so.

PfftTheMagicDraco · 05/01/2014 16:52

I just wanted to pop in and say that I LOVE the itaste vv. And the vaping in general. The liquid I got tastes better today compared to yesterday. DP and I had our last fags last night at about 9pm, and we are both feeling pretty good. Gone from 15-20 a day.

QueenStromba · 05/01/2014 17:10

Great news :)

DizzyZebra · 05/01/2014 17:22

Brilliant.

Found out what the weird message on the display was so for anyone who has an itaste vv with an iclear 30b when it comes to changing to coil, you have to screw it back in REALLY tightly or it wont make contact and itll confuse your battery into resetting all the time. You'll know if its not making contact because itll flash up 888 and then 1 = 1 and then reset and go back to 3.5 v and might not fire at all.

i was shitting my pants thinking it was faulty until i tried other tanks on the battery and didn't have a problem, but that tank wouldn't fire on any other batteries.

I couldn't find the answer on google so hopefully this will help anyone else who comes across this as it took me all day to figure out cause in dippy as fuck.

DizzyZebra · 05/01/2014 17:23

That should say "Brilliant Draco"

McNo · 05/01/2014 17:37

I decided to order the ecig from amazon and the taster liquid from joosejuice. Do I need anything else? The ecig just has a charger and the cig in it. Sorry for all the questions, I'm sure I'll get to grips with it soon Confused

QueenStromba · 05/01/2014 17:49

You'll need at least two batteries for when one is charging McNo but other than that you should be alright to begin with. How many liquids did you get? I think the average is 20-30ml a week so one bottle might only do you a couple of days.

DizzyZebra · 05/01/2014 17:51

Mcno - That's fine that's all you need to get started.

You might want to buy different batteries and clearomisers in future if you like it. When it gets burnt out you replace either the clearomiser itself or the coil inside (depending what sort of clearo you have) but you don't need to worry about that yet, most people get a good couple of months out of them.
