To think that if you are OP

..you should bloody well check your post makes sense and is readable? Starting to really piss me off that people want advice and support but can't even be arsed to check that they have used actual words. Yes, we all struggle with phone keys but some of us take the trouble to correct the typos and bizarre auto-corrects. And you can turn off auto-correct, you know.

If I can't understand your post, you will get no support from me.

Rant over.

Shouldn't your title read 'If you are an/the OP'?

ThankGodItsTuesday · 19/10/2013 18:25

Yes it is very annoying, but so is not proof reading the title.

sydlexic · 19/10/2013 18:25

Maybe they are stressed.

WorraLiberty · 19/10/2013 18:25

YANBU

Although I've never used a phone to post, so don't know how difficult it is to read back and check?

ImperialBlether · 19/10/2013 18:26
Grin

I don't think I've ever read a rant about grammar/spelling/punctuation without there being an error in it.

Bowlersarm · 19/10/2013 18:27

Tbh, I think I stop reading if it's not easily readable. Which is a shame if a lot of posters do that, if someone could do with some genuine advice/help.

Although your thread title isn't perfect, I suppose I agree with you.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 19/10/2013 18:27

Well, gosh, I posted on Relationships recently, quite upset and stressed and no, I didn't stop and think to proof-read before I posted - my frame of mind wasn't up to that.

Luckily, the people on that board are a little less uptight about such bollocks and gave me support and advice anyway.

Thank God.

CoffeeTea103 · 19/10/2013 18:28

Yanbu, besides the errors people seem to ignore punctuation. You start reading a long sentence and then have to read it again because it doesn't make sense. I don't even bother with those posts anymore.

UsedToBeNDP · 19/10/2013 18:29

I love it when these frothing, indignant pedant posts backfire.

AgentZigzag · 19/10/2013 18:34

What Chelsea said Grin

And syd.

It's probably for the best you don't make their shitty situation worse by posting.

ArgyMargy · 19/10/2013 18:34

Well, iphone decided by itself that I had finished the title. I think I then assumed there is a Twitter-like limit on the number of characters allowed. It would not be grammatically wrong if you read it as "to think that if you are Originally Posting"

And although sloppy posts may get replies, you don't know how many more you would have received if you'd bothered to make sense!

Oooh you should have taken the trouble to check tut tut. If you can't even be arsed to check how dare you even post tut tut. You should bloody well check instead of assuming it was right.

Therein lies the problem OP. Maybe you should have more sympathy?

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 19/10/2013 18:47

The only thing I hate is a very long post that have no paragraphs, it impossible for me to read.

FreudiansSlipper · 19/10/2013 18:48

oh i do love it when others get a telling off and the op makes a tit of themselves by doing so

wtf does it really matter unless of course you have not much else to worry about than how people use mumsnet. thank you for amusing me Grin

FreudiansSlipper · 19/10/2013 18:49

shall we have a moan how an op does not return, or name changes, gives further information later on or makes spelling mistakes
