Has channel 4 lost the plot or am I being a prude?

I've seen a couple of adverts now for an upcoming programme on c4 where couple go into a big box room on a stage (looks like in front of a live audience, but suspect that's staged) to have sex. Then when they are done they emerge to discuss the experience with a panel.

Is it me, or this just fucking odd?

Excuse pun, not intended!

It isn't you. It's odd.

Beehatch · 04/10/2013 22:30

'Fucking odd' just about has it!

AnyFucker · 04/10/2013 22:31

I saw a trailer for this. What utter bollocks. It's dressed up as "learning about sex between couples". Yep, two people having sex in a big black box and then yapping on tv about it is the norm, right ?

Sparklingbrook · 04/10/2013 22:32

Mariella Frostrup is hosting.

ModeratelyObvious · 04/10/2013 22:33

Whaaaaaaat?!

Madeyemoodysmum · 04/10/2013 22:33

C4 is just pants these days, it used to be one of my fav channels but now seems to just go for shock tactics. I despair of how our youngsters are growing up at times. It's quite depressing.

footballagain · 04/10/2013 22:33

Thank god it's not just me! Smile

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 04/10/2013 22:34

You wouldn't be able to concentrate would you?

AnyFucker · 04/10/2013 22:34

Mariella Frostrup used to be a serious presenter. Not so much, now

Sparklingbrook · 04/10/2013 22:35

Do the couple know each other beforehand?

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 04/10/2013 22:36

So they get assessed on their performance?

Do they win something?

Rotterwallah · 04/10/2013 22:39

Why would anyone think that anyone else was even a bit interested in the sex they are doing?

thenightsky · 04/10/2013 22:40

Channel 4 must be running out of ideas

miffybun73 · 04/10/2013 23:26

It's not just you Shock

PetiteRaleuse · 04/10/2013 23:28

It's fodder to get people talking about them. It's working. The idea though, is interesting.

HeySoulSister · 04/10/2013 23:28

It's you op, it's entirely normal. Get back in your box!

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 04/10/2013 23:33

I just would not do this! Ffs. Why? Wannabes might go in for it though - a potted Big Brother style experience and your pic in a frothy Daily Mail piece.

GreenlyPink · 04/10/2013 23:33

That's old school Chanel 4 that is.

Damnautocorrect · 04/10/2013 23:34

Why is there the need to shag in the box?!? Ok talk about their sex life but shag in the box?! There's just no need

neiljames77 · 04/10/2013 23:35

It's not a glass box like on "the cube" is it surely?
If they are only in there for a minute or two, are the audience going to start sniggering when they come out?

When's it on? Grin

grimbletart · 05/10/2013 00:34

Oh for a little bit of repression please.

timidviper · 05/10/2013 00:43

It's awful. I hate it when I see things like this and find myself turning into a ranty Mary Whitehouse person.
