Why would someone pay money to have a misspelt version of their name on their car? Or words?

E.g. M41HEW, A11CET, OF55IDE T

I get the initials ones, not that i would want one, don't get this.

I have a theory though!

Everlong, does your school name begin with "W"? Grin...

YouHaveAGoodPoint · 30/09/2013 23:15

For only £399 you could have EVlL MEN. Surely there are a few MN'ers that would like it.

YouHaveAGoodPoint · 30/09/2013 23:33

Oh dear, they shouldn't sell This One Hmm Confused

VonHerrBurton · 30/09/2013 23:37

Oh there's a bloke down the road who has an X5, his wife a convertible BMW something-or-other. Both vehicles have 3 initials and a couple of numbers on them.

Neither bear any resemblance of either of their names. Cringe. They are top of the range posers though, they have a hot tub and designer everything but can't pay the electricity bill.

I imagine registrations are fairly randomly generated, with a few words blocked but if anything properly offensive slips through the net, it gets blocked before it's actually released. I would hope they get checked manually before becoming properly official, anyway.
