DD2 brought a school trip letter home yesterday - 10 places to bexawarded on a first come, first served basis.

She was 8th in the queue, the pupil before her handed in her slip and 3 extras for friends.

It takes a lot for her to get out of bed early, and she really wanted this opportunity - one that her sister experienced 2 years ago, and I really wanted then tu have the same chance.

You know what? I think I will. The probbo is, I'm a Governor there and really don't want to be seen to be doing things that might be seen as using contacts, or implying that the school is not following correct or cricket procedures.

If she was 8th in the queue she was 8th in the queue, so her and the two after her should all have places as they were bothered enough to get there early.

The school is not following procedures; that's really crap. Why would you imagine being a governor means you have to suck it up?
