Heheh Edwina, that's what I was thinking. The uninvited twenty should just have their own bash for the rest of the town, preferably as close to the bride's venue as possible and everyone will sneak off from b2b's boring undecorated wedding reception to their party!

I reckon Tidy was asked first out of 'the social wilderness twenty' because of her skills. It probably never even occurred to GZ that she may possibly say no. When you are so far up your own jacksy, like this one, it just wouldn't have registered as an option. I think her 'badly let down' refers to Tidy. She was expecting her to say yes, so planned everything around that and then Tidy let her down by saying no. This will be outrageous to the terminally self absorbed. I'm sure she genuinely feels let down badly. But just because she feels it doesn't make it fucking so!

Tidy - You defo need some kind of facebook group called 'the uninvited' for the others to join.

Poor woman. I hope her big day isn't completely ruined even though she is the author, publisher and Charles Saatchi of her own destruction.

Think Tidy should organise a special dinner for 'the uninvited' (with a theme...)

Having slightly calmed down from laughing so much at the latest update, when is the wedding? Tomorrow or next Saturday? She hasn't got much time left, has she? Grin

Great update. But kind of a shame that hunfriend didn't know a bit more of the history so that when gluezilla said about being let down at the last minute she could have said that she'd heard that gluezilla also asked Tidy at the last minute and so is guessing that she is working her way through her not-good-enough-to-attend-the-wedding friend's and find out who she had originally asked.

I'm sure that Tidy probably was the original ask but it would have been fun to hear about gluezilla stuttering and trying to explain her way out of that one!

Why didn't just GZ hire decorators like most brides? Sure, some brides make much of the fact that they and their friends did all the decorations but the difference being that they all plan it months in advance together and do it the week/day before together. She should have at least called decorators the moment Tidy made her position clear she would not be helping. Bet your friend is so glad she's going to Paris.

I have just guffawed through most of these posts! Thank you all so much for staying with me through this! You are all awesome! (So awesome that I had to reply now having only got out of bed to go to the toilet!).

I do know people who are actually permitted to attend the event of the year. I may be able to update with how it goes on the day!

"Charles Saatchi of her own destruction" might be one of the best comments ever! Grin

I'm not sure who else is on the uninvited list so I'm not sure I can find out if any of them were also asked. I know a lot of people who are likely to have been invited/uninvited so I may well find out at some point in the future.

I'll be back home late tomorrow, but will update if there is anything interesting when I have an Internet connection!

Oh PMSL at "badly let down at the last minute" - HAHAHAHAHA!! well that's what happens when you don't invite people but just expect them to do a shitload of work for you for free and don't even discuss it with them properly! not that you would have agreed even if she discussed it properly, but seriously?!

I like hunfriend. I hope she gave it to Gluezilla good and proper. Grin

OMG can't believe she is working her way through the uninvited. As others are saying, why didn't she budget for the decorating in the first place and get on with sorting it out weeks ago if she was let down?

I think that Patchouli has hit the nail on the head with "Glue's had it in her head that you'll be doing the decorating for much longer than you've known about." She probably even had it on her planning list months ago, even after she disinvited you - Decorations, Tidy, Tick.

Ive been lurking on this thread forever now, funny as hell. Someone mentioned guests coming in Godzilla outfits & that one just floored me..hahahahaha...I also cant get my head round a Sylvanian wedding theme?! I do hope Gluey goes all out on her gaudy tat theme tho & Tidy knows someone who can go & film/take pics of some of the reception then stick the link up on here..I fancy another good laugh Grin
