At least she put them in the pot, dd2 put 12 woodlice and 3 lady birds inside her dolls house once. Or she thinks that's how many she put in, there's only 1 ladybug and 2 woodlice now, oh wait make that one ladybug and one woodlouse.

How many rose pettel's do you have?

Madratlady · 25/07/2013 07:59

Carying a mini rose pettel. Is that supposed to mean you're pregnant?

Funnily enough I don't find that makes me any busier than usual.

Although I definitely don't think you should get your dd a pet if you don;t want one, that's how animals end up neglected.

rosepettel · 25/07/2013 08:00

3 and im carring 1

Weird thread, but assuming it's real....

My 5yo DD2 likes to put bugs in pots as pets.

I let her keep them for about 10 minutes and then tell her to let them go because bugs don't like being in pots and will die. Because they will.

However, banning your DD from ever having a pet because she puts bugs in pots is just weird.

If you think she's too young (you're right) or don't want the responsibility for a real pet, that's fine. You are the parent and in charge.

Perhaps you should suggest pet rocks to her?

Why would you cut their pet? Confused

Don't get fish, they take bloody hours to care for. Hamsters are eevil. Rats are nice and easy to look after. You only have to feed them once a day and clean them about once a week. Budgies appear to be fairly easy too. Cockatiels can be a bit hissy, ime.

Well come on now, massive drama, child puts insect in a pot. QUICK! TO MUMSNET! Firstly, it's bloody cruel and secondly although I like a thread about the little things in life, I cannot believe anyone needs advise from AIBU on this subject.

I'm just surprised you haven't left them on a bus or something.

I have no idea what those symbols represent when placed in that order.
