Before i get a back lash, i know summer is lovely and i shouldnt be so grumpy about it but.....

My sandals always rub my feet, have tried different styles etc (My winter boots never rub)

By mid morning my face is greasy/sweaty, i have tried different types of face creams for said problem (this rarely happens in winter)

I have to keep on top of foot filing and nail varnish, cant have 'ugly' feet ;) (in winter dont have to worry so much as no ones sees my feet apart from me and dh)

I have to have 2 showers everyday(in winter just the one in the morning)

I could go on but, a) i dont want to bore you more than i have and
b) i hope you get my point!

couldn't flippin sleep last night, DC was same, she has heat rash, grumpy pants a go-go, hate it hate it hate I.

I have SAME probs with feet, sweat, my face and hair look like ive been dipped in oil after 5 mins.

BRING BACK WINTER!

marjproops · 19/06/2013 17:47

and these 'matt' foundation type things never work, not waterproof make up.

Repeatedlydoingthetwist · 19/06/2013 17:51

I'm in your camp too!!! I hate hate HATE summer! I always feel so sweaty and greasy literally as soon as I've got out of the shower. And I can't seem to dress appropriately for it, little dresses do NOT suit me.

RenterNomad · 19/06/2013 17:51

Hahaha, don't worry, dears, we're not going to suffer much!

marjproops · 19/06/2013 17:54

renter its not so much the actual sun wether it sows up or not, its heat and stickiness.

and its muggy.

thebody · 19/06/2013 17:55

Your all bloody mad.

Hate hate winter, snow, bitter cold, wellies and layers of clothes, bloody lugging in the coal and the washing.

Love sundress and sandles and warmth.

SupermansBigRedPants · 19/06/2013 18:08

I 'like' summer but not when it's 25º every single day Angry i do enjoy wearing literally undies, dress and flip flops compared to 40 layers in winter but my god i sweat and it's always my face Confused - 1º too hot and it's beading/pooling/dripping yuk yuk yuk!

On top of that my mood is very attached to my temp so again even 1º above 'ok' leads to irritation, anger and real inability to think and concentrate without snapping. I don't mind my feet etc as i do them all winter anyway same with shaving but i don't enjoy the heat.

wamabama · 19/06/2013 18:27

I'm with you!

I'm not a warm weather fan at all. If I go abroad I make sure it's somewhere cold or in their winter season Grin I'm such a wimp!

I get all sweaty constantly though which is vairy unattractive, my make up runs and my hair gets messy. Also I feel like I need a bath 24/7, just feel grubby.
I can't sleep on a night.
I get headaches from the heat/glaring sun.
It makes me lazy and tired.
I can't wear sandles because I have gross toes (not infected or anything Grin just ugly ones) so my feet suffocate.

Grrr! I always long for the cold weather back and I never complain in winter! Well, except for when the snow disrupts everything that is.

RenterNomad · 19/06/2013 18:45

Yes, that's a good point about mugginess... ugh

cardibach · 19/06/2013 18:55

WHere are you all living with 25 degree hat every day and needing 8 showers a day? I'll swap. I've only worn my sandals about 4 times this year as it really isn't warm enough yet.
I get that we all like different things, but can you leave the moaning about hot weather at least until I've had some?

cardibach · 19/06/2013 18:56

heat not hat :)

morticia74 · 19/06/2013 18:57

I quite agree. I love winter and my boots and opaque tights and long sleeved tops........

Sparklingbrook · 19/06/2013 19:00

Summer clothes aren't comfortable like winter ones. Lots to consider-

Pale skin
Leg shaving
What bra/no bra with strappy tops
Shoe choices
Unsightly upper arms
Skirts that are see through
Sticky sun cream
Under boob moisture

And many many more. But in my maxi dress at home in the sunshine I don't care. Grin

emanjay · 19/06/2013 19:03

Son wants to be outside. So I get burnt head, headache, lethargic. They dont settle to sleep because its so light so mummy gets no evening whatsover. Clothes are a pain - can hide under coats in cooler weather (and my bingo wings lol)

marjproops · 19/06/2013 19:03

eeeewww yy the under boob moisture!!!! that too!!!!

Sparklingbrook · 19/06/2013 19:06

On very hot days between boob moisture too. Sad

morticia74 · 19/06/2013 19:11

And why is it that even though most women, over the age of 30, even if they are slim have bingo wings and still most summer clothes are sleeveless? It's evil.

Sparklingbrook · 19/06/2013 19:12

YY morticia I really don't like sleeveless any more.

SupermansBigRedPants · 19/06/2013 19:13

Uch sweaty inbetween boobs i get that Envy

Bunbaker · 19/06/2013 19:18

I find summer clothes more comfortable because they are less cumbersome.

I think some of you are making problems for yourself:

  1. Don't sit in the sun
  2. Buy a fan
  3. Don't wear makeup
  4. Get some really strong anti-perspirant
  5. Wear sunglasses outside
  6. Sitting with your feet in a bowl of cool water really cools you down.

And where is it that hot anyway? We have had a pleasant 21 degrees today.

SupermansBigRedPants · 19/06/2013 19:18

cardibach i may have been slightly exaggerating But not by much, We get 4-5 days of it at a time in high summer mixed with 19/20º unless it's raining but even then Hmm although it varies on year obviously i'm not that daft Grin

CotherMuckingFunt · 19/06/2013 19:19

So glad to hear other people gave sweaty faces. Mine is like dripping tap as soon as the temp goes over 25 degrees. It's mortifying, especially as I live in France surrounded by dainty tanned sun lovers.

Sparklingbrook · 19/06/2013 19:20

I get a sweaty back when I go out walking. Sad

SupermansBigRedPants · 19/06/2013 19:21

bunbaker 21º pleasant Shock I can't hack 13/14º :( i do all those things though but my poor face still sweats yuk, even my doctor can't explain it.

marjproops · 19/06/2013 19:23

bunbaker some of us (me) dare not emerge without make up.

even the shade is hot, and when you're walking/rushing about you cant keep cool.

the strongest anti-persiparnt doesn't work, and you cant roll it all over your body anyway.

and YY soon as I hit 30 was thin as posh spice yet grew bingo wings and cant stand showing arms/legs anything else!
