Before i get a back lash, i know summer is lovely and i shouldnt be so grumpy about it but.....

My sandals always rub my feet, have tried different styles etc (My winter boots never rub)

By mid morning my face is greasy/sweaty, i have tried different types of face creams for said problem (this rarely happens in winter)

I have to keep on top of foot filing and nail varnish, cant have 'ugly' feet ;) (in winter dont have to worry so much as no ones sees my feet apart from me and dh)

I have to have 2 showers everyday(in winter just the one in the morning)

I could go on but, a) i dont want to bore you more than i have and
b) i hope you get my point!

I'm with you sugar. In fact I have just taken my bra off and I did the groaning noise. Grin

Snugglepiggy · 19/06/2013 20:57

I said to someone that I actually like winter the other day and they looked at me as if I was mad.But I do.Like the food casseroles and comfort food etc.Like cosy nights in by the fire.Like long soaks in the bath. And like the fact that when I get chose an outfit for the day I stay in it.Somehow in British summers I seem to endlessly have to change. With the exception of the few wall to wall hot and sunny days I put something on and later in the day it's too warm or not quite warm enough.
And much as I like my garden and how lovely it looks for the few prime weeks of the year it's just another chore with all the weeding and maintenance ,which when I get my head around it can be enjoyable, but in winter if I do get a rare hour or two to spare can very happily be spent curled up with a good book.

Notcontent · 19/06/2013 21:05

Oh, my God!!!
21 degrees is NOT HOT!!!!
I love warm weather. And if you get flushed and have to have multiple showers then I think you have a medical problem....

Gonnabmummy · 19/06/2013 21:46

With you all pg with first he's due on 28th August and he is not at all helping in the heat factor

tattle · 19/06/2013 22:02

I quite like summer I don't seem to be

Overheating or anything quite enjoying just hanging in the garden.
I don't believe today was the hottest day of the year either.
19'c on my phone app and that's not hot when there's a gust.

CloudsAndTrees · 19/06/2013 22:04

You people are all crazy.

The weather has been nowhere near warm enough for it to be worthy of heat complaint yet, it's only just become vaguely pleasant!

Francagoestohollywood · 19/06/2013 22:26

Please shush. Everytime a mnetter complains about warm (ish) weather, it then rains for the whole season.
I am visiting the Uk in July and hope for decent weather.
And, btw, it was 36 degrees here today. That IS hot.

SamuelWestsMistress · 19/06/2013 22:28

Well winter makes my hair unbearably static, and I condtantly get electric shocks off everyone and everything, so it's nice to have time off from that shit!

Sparklingbrook · 19/06/2013 22:29

I bet all you none complainers are really glamorous, don't sweat, and have fabulous summer wardrobes with matching handbags and shoes. Envy

Francagoestohollywood · 19/06/2013 22:31

No, not glamorous at all.
I also look shite in the rain at 7 degrees.

Bunbaker · 19/06/2013 22:34

"I bet all you none complainers are really glamorous, don't sweat, and have fabulous summer wardrobes with matching handbags and shoes"

Nope. I just don't like cold weather, I love gardening, only sweat when the thermometer rises above 30 degrees or if I am doing some hard physical work and none of my bags and shoes match.

Sallystyle · 19/06/2013 22:34

I am still waiting for summer to start.

It was muggy today, but not really warm enough for sandals and dresses.

I want some sun.

Fakebook · 19/06/2013 22:35

You arseholes. You've all jinxed it now. Thanks a lot. Some people who suffer from Vit D deficiency and SAD need the summer and the sun. 9 months of freezing cold weather and you can't put up with a day or two of hotness? Angry.

Sallystyle · 19/06/2013 22:36

I hate the cold with a passion. My hair gets frizzy, I look much healthier in the summer.

Except for my make up looking shiny.

But like I said, I have no idea what you guys are talking about, it's only mildly pleasant Grin

SquinkiesRule · 19/06/2013 22:43

We are over 30 today and windy, very low humidity too so it's bearable. All outside stuff and house cleaning has to be done before lunchtime or it gets too hot.
Heating up over the next few days should be upper 30's soon, then I hibernate and wear very little.
Today it's flip fops and jeans and tees, tomorrow shorts.
No make up it melts off, only eye liner and lippy, and sunscreen. My hair is so dry and frizzy today. Sad

AnyFucker · 19/06/2013 22:45

I am a summer person. Absolutely. When it really is summer, that is. We seem to be having a changeable spring right now, about 2 months too late.

Roll on summer !

Monty27 · 19/06/2013 22:46

No time to do housework because the garden needs so much attention, and garden dirt gets walked into the house. Everyone has showers and changes their clothes a zillion times a day, work turns the aircon up so high it's freezing, costs me a fortune in drinks and icecream and t-shirts and shorts for dc's.

I take it this is tongue in cheek Grin Confused

Bring it on.

I'm allergic to winter. :(

ouryve · 19/06/2013 22:46

YANBU.

I have pale, sun sensitive skin - and I've given up looking for a sunblock that doesn't make that worse. I'm 43. I have random hot flushes, particularly when I'm pre-menstrual, as I am now. It was only about 19 up here, today, but really still and sticky. To cap it all off, DS2 had a meltdown, after school and I ended up having to carry him part of the way home. He's 7. By the time I got home, between the sweat, snot and tears, I was soaked.

On top of that, we're all suffering with hayfever and the boys are getting endless heat rashes.

We're not so keen on snow that doesn't go away for 3 weeks, but at least we can stay indoors and escape it.

Littleballofhate · 19/06/2013 22:47

I loves me the winter! Snuggling up in bed. Fuzzy slippers. Falling snow. In the summer my fanjo sweats and I hate it!

Latara · 19/06/2013 22:59

Sorry but i love the summer; not that we've really had summer yet!

I went abroad last month; at average 30 degrees now that was properly hot..

SupermansBigRedPants · 19/06/2013 23:07

I can sweat too much at 2º never mind 20 :( my dr can't find anything wrong but summer just makes it so, do much worse it is horrid Angry

ilovesooty · 19/06/2013 23:43

I'd be happy if it was June all year round.

carolthesecretary · 19/06/2013 23:50

Oh yes, much prefer autumn. Scarves, gloves, knee length boots... Bliss...

marjproops · 20/06/2013 16:46

hots okay if you live by a beach or a pool.

if you dont have to move at all.

and you're slim.

and no, its not a vanity/body issue/media pressure thing, its a fact.

bloody frizzy hair today from sweating so much.

Dc and I cant sleep at all.

massive flies in and out of the house...and i dont even open windows and rush in and out of door to stop them coming in.

gets worse as i get older.
