Putting away the clean laundry with OH and come across one of his socks that has been through the wash several times.
He begs me not to throw it away, says that it has life left in it. In the end, we agree i force him to let Mumsnet decide.

So Mumsnet, what shall be the fate of this sock?

The Offending Article

NOTE: This sock has just come out of the wash and is, theoretically clean

KILL IT! KILL IT NOW!

HobKnob · 20/04/2013 14:35

O God

Throw away the bloody sock.

I got so pissed off with the DDs ridiculous mountains of odd socks that I threw the entire lot in the bin (2 carrier bagfuls, I swear), and bought them 7 nice new pairs each.

My life feels better.

TheSeventhHorcrux · 20/04/2013 14:35

His defence: "It's a work boot sock"

MomsNetCurtains · 20/04/2013 14:36

Kill it! Kill it with fire!

MomsNetCurtains · 20/04/2013 14:37

Oooh work boot sock=different from lesser socks. If he likes it as a work boot sock then keep it. Talking from experience!!!!!

Fuzzysnout · 20/04/2013 14:38

Rank - it must die!
Lovely animals though Smile

whattodoo · 20/04/2013 14:39

I'm sure they make TV shows about that sort of sock!

Get rid - bundle it up in double carrier bags and put it at the bottom of the bin.

MomsNetCurtains · 20/04/2013 14:40

Also I LOVE how the photo looks like a sock trying to break through the 'Glass Ceiling of Sock Life' with a human hand trying to hold it back. Grin Excellent!

MomsNetCurtains · 20/04/2013 14:40

Does he work in a mine? That is a very dirty sock!

BringBackBod · 20/04/2013 14:41

Where's the other one?

TheSeventhHorcrux · 20/04/2013 14:43

The other one crawled off to die somewhere

Grim Shock, it's needs chucking out, end of discussion .

Wolfcub · 20/04/2013 14:44

omg bin now

Startail · 20/04/2013 14:46

BIN!

My lovely DDs do that to socks going back and forth to the trampoline, it is dead.

deleted203 · 20/04/2013 14:47

Grin It needs to die! I hate being fucking 'sock monitor' in our house...it is not a job I remember ever applying for. For some reason I am incapable of washing pairs of socks - every time I throw a load of dirty washing in, 17 odd socks emerge from the machine. And I save them until the other appears. Periodically I haul out my bag of odd socks, pair about 6 and then stare in disbelief at the pile left. Last time I counted 76 odd socks - and threw the lot of the fuckers in the bin.

They still keep appearing though.

MadamFolly · 20/04/2013 14:47

I would not even have asked him, say the washing machine ate it.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 20/04/2013 14:47

Does it walk by itself? It needs to be put out of its misery, and quickly. I suggest beheading and burning the remains.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 20/04/2013 14:48

No! There is no life there!

Bin it!!

CheckpointCharlie · 20/04/2013 14:49

It looks menacing, bin it Mr seventhhorcrux before it turns on you.

TheSeventhHorcrux · 20/04/2013 14:49

I'm thinking about putting it in an arena with his other manky socks and making them fight to the death with one lone victor, Hunger Games style.

senua · 20/04/2013 14:51

What about a compromise.
He is not allowed to wear it but it can be relegated to the garage for him to use as a rag when doing Manly Things.
