We filled a thread, so here's another!

I measure 29 inch under and using that 90 degree thing over is 35 and a half inch. What size do you reckon I am.

M&S told me I was a 32 B. Refused to but that one as my boobs were hanging out. I'm only a size 8 so looked rediculous ! I need a bit of uplift as well.

Thanks.

Afternoon all! I've just ordered nearly £200 of stuff from brastop to try, but am thinking I may have got some of the sizings wrong. I'm currently in a 32F moulded Gorgeous (Debenhams) which gives me a fabulous shape but can pull it away by a good inch and a half, and can also swizzle it round my body fairly easily (I fasten at the front and spin). It is however a rather old and battered bra, which may explain the stretch. Cup wise I have extremely close set boobs and vigorous scooping in my current size does lead to a very small overspill. I'm thinking I may need to try some 30FF's and 30G's as well?

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 13:25

tooth you haven't broken it at all. It's quite common to have the issues you mentioned when the back is too big as it just doesn't hold the bra up. First of, fasten that 38 on the tightest hook and SCOOP like crazy. Bet you have spill! Try the 36E but make sure you follow the "how to put yor bra on and scoop" advice.

eski try a 30E and 30F

catpark and another bollocks M&S fitting! Try a 28F, 28FF, 30E for starters. 28 is more likely

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 13:27

Debenhams Gorgeous runs small in the back as a rule, so if the 32 is loose you definitely need to try a smaller back (and bigger cup) on other brands. If the Gorgeous 32F is overspilling I would try a 30G in others.

OP posts:
sparkle12mar08 · 02/03/2013 13:27

Catpark try a 28f, 28ff, 30e and 30f

Eski try a 30e and 30f

catpark · 02/03/2013 13:27

I've been wearing a 30D

sparkle12mar08 · 02/03/2013 13:29

Thanks Statistically, I've seen you say that upthread so was wondering. But my actual measurements are 32.5 and 40, so I was thinking that a 30 might actually be too small, but on the other hand (again!), I'm also 'squishy of torso' as we've been terming it Grin

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 13:30

catpark, if you follow the scooping info, how is the 30D fitting

OP posts:
catpark · 02/03/2013 13:31

What's the best place to get 28 back sizes as i've struggled to get 30 back sized bras ? The 30D i've been wearing seems o.k. so thought I had guessed right !

eski2606 · 02/03/2013 13:32

Thank you I will report back!

HellesBelles396 · 02/03/2013 13:32

I went to the shops in my local town that sell bras and tried on a 38FF (no 36G's in sleepy market town (strange considering the humungosaurs I see about the place but hey-ho) but the cup was too big, worked my way down to a 36E with copious scooping (it actually HURT as I was trying to pull every spare ounce of flesh (ok - spare stone of flesh) from my upper body into the cups!).

Wearing it now - it's a Fantasie T-Shirt bra. Breasts look lifted but it is a fuller cup than I'm used to so feels a bit strange...

Thank you bra-ladies!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 13:33

for 28s, try Brastop, Bravissimo, Leia, MyCurvesandMe, Amazon, debenhams, john lewis

OP posts:
catpark · 02/03/2013 13:34

Statisticallychallenged, I seem to stay in the bra fine but i've just tested the 2 fingers in the band thing and I can get most of my hand under it so perhaps the 30 is too big.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 13:34

HellesBelles396, sounds good! I find Fantasie bras a bit big as a rule, so you may find you need to try a cup size up in other brands (just for reference)

HellesBelles396 · 02/03/2013 13:39

SC - forgot to say - this thread gave me the confidence to overrule the fitting room assistant when she told me that, if the cup looks big, I need to tighten the shoulder straps!
Thank you!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 14:02

Confidence is what I like to hear

sparkle12mar08 · 02/03/2013 14:10

You ladies are bad for my bank balance. Bad, you hear me? Bad! Just ordered another shedload in 30G to try.

Furball · 02/03/2013 14:30

SC - it was it was a Elomi, Caitlyn, Full Cup, in 36 GG twas lovely too, yes to scooping but it still didn't fill the top part of the cup

I've copied and pasted me post below to save you trawling through:-

Me 36 GG bra turned up this morning and I don't have quite enough stuffing to fill it on the top half, but do on the bottom. It was good round on the band

What is the next size down? is it 36G? and then is 36 FF?

I need to go to a shops so will head for M & S and have a try on, though I'm not to confident about what the right fit should be as I've been wearing wrong all my bra wearing days. Is it a case of I will just know when it's right?

Trazzletoes · 02/03/2013 14:33

Hi ladies! So, my 34DD(!) has arrived and it looks and feels amazing!

However, there is some, er, overspill between the band and my armpits - it bulges anyway and isn't what typically looks like boob-flesh.

Is this just because I could do with losing a few pounds? Or am I still in the wrong size? (Thanks!)

AyeOopMoose · 02/03/2013 14:40

SC just wanted to say thank you so much. I was wearing 42f old non wired nursing bra.

I seriously thought that I was going to have to have surgery as my boobs looked so awful after bf and yo yo weight.

Now I have, dare I say it, perky (albeit large) boobs that are no longer by my navel. And I have a waist.

I feel sexy for the first time in 3 years and that I have a little bit of the old pre DC me back.

Amazing what a well fitting bra can do (38gg spot on first time). I just need to keep it on 24/7 Grin

Beksybob · 02/03/2013 14:47

Bra ladies! Please help me out. I've spent an entire morning trying on bras. Much to my surprise I have come away with a 30DD. It passes all the rules of a good bra test, but I'm still not sure...to be honest, it feels pretty much the same of my old 34AAs only the cups are further apart! Will I really get used to having this tight piece of materiel stretched across my ribcage? How long should it take?

Oh, also my boobs don't seem to curve over the top of anything I tried on no matter how small (as in the women on the photos), more escape under the armpits. Is that just my shape? In non-moulded ones the bottom of the cups seemed right but the tops were baggy. Too big or just my shape again?

Many thanks!!

Please could someone offer a suggestion for my norks?

Using the leaning forward method im 37 round chest and 46 round the breasts. What should I wear? I have a draw full of bras that don't fit Angry

Thanks
CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 15:29

Fancy 36G for starters. What size do you wear?

Beksy it sounds as though the band might be too big. Have you tried a 28? Did you scoop?

I think the tightness does take a bit of getting used to, but it does get comfy. I wear my underwired bras to bed.

CelticPromise · 02/03/2013 15:32

Trazzle did you scoop? That should all go in the bra, and once it's in the band should be tight enough to keep it there. You might need a bigger cup after vigorous scooping...
