We filled a thread, so here's another!

Hazle my rugby club negotiated a 10% discount from lessbounce.com. Maybe you could do the same for your classes! Point them in the right direction at least.

I often see women out running and think 'ouch!'

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 20:59

Maybe you should subtly stick a "bra fitting advice" poster to the door Hazle?

My DH can point out the bad bras too.

I have clearly been far too bored today!

So how tight is your bra band suppose to be? I know you should only be able to fit two fingers underneath in the front, but what if you can't fit any at all?

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 21:13

It might be a little too tight - but how does it feel?

marriednotdead · 01/03/2013 21:14

Evening all. Had a day off so fairly bra free not literally, that would be messy. Looks like you've all been busy though Grin

Had the urge to buy DD another bra though. We've never been able to find one in her real size that fits properly or is comfortable, much to my disgust. Now her boobs are a bit bigger, she's got a perfect fit albeit on the tightest hook. £6 in Sainsbos, it's not fair.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 21:17

Busy indeed marriednotdead...I spent too long on trains with inadequate wireless for proper working, and a pathetically small table for studying. Which only leaves ranting about bras!

OP posts:
marriednotdead · 01/03/2013 21:19

Such hardship Grin

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/03/2013 21:20

Ha at Scots out in vest tops in 8 degrees! That's positively tropical for us.

I am planning an intervention tomorrow. Extremely badly-fitting bra on friend, lifelong problem. She is v large of nork and also v shy. Wears big baggy Tshirts all the time. Owns nothing fitted. She suffers badly with RSI including shoulder pain. I am convinced that a good bra might reduce her pain, but worried that she'll be mortified if I say so and refuse to cooperate. Any tips for gently encouraging her?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/03/2013 21:21

She's not even 30 and her boobs have been pointing south since we were 15. Sad

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 21:21

Could you maybe print out a bra fitting guide, say you found it and it helped you so much and you think it might help her shoulder pain?

Which it seriously might - a bad bra puts so much strain on shoulders.

Messandmayhem · 01/03/2013 21:22

Turns out my measurements the other day were wrong, I'm actually just under 32 under and iirc 47 over. After trying a million bras in bravissimo I have left with a 30JJ. I NEVER beleived the centre would lie flat, even the fitters in bravissimo had previously told me "you don't really get that with bigger busts" but IT DOES!!!!

My boobs look awesome :D Thank you bra geniuses!

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 21:24

YAY! More happy breasts :)

OP posts:
marriednotdead · 01/03/2013 21:32

Messandmayhem They shouldn't be saying that! Yes, it's harder to achieve but still...

TooExtraImmatureCheddar
If she agrees to let you, where will you take her? She may need time to psyche herself up. Hoping she throws herself into it, but you may need to go very slowly.

marriednotdead · 01/03/2013 21:35

Incidentally, I have an RSI (tennis elbow) and shoulder pain, probably from my line of work!

marriednotdead · 01/03/2013 21:37

May have outed myself there to anyone who has encountered me at work. Oh well...

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 21:37

Yeah, anyone on here who actually knows the real me can probably ID me too....ah well!

determinedma · 01/03/2013 21:42

OK, going to get a tape measure and post my stats. Current bra gapes at the cups and straps slip down. Don't go away......

SorrelForbes · 01/03/2013 21:45

Me too. I've given so many clues Grin

SamraLee · 01/03/2013 21:47

I'm short and so the extra fabric above where the underwire is is annoying and I think the band is a little tight because it's a bit uncomfortable, but I haven't worn a real bra in ages. I mostly just wear sports bras because I couldn't/can't be bothered getting a maternity bra and I'm breastfeeding and midwife told me I HAVE to wear a bra or my breasts will fall off I would get mastitis. The cup is a little loose at the top, but it's unpadded which is strange because all my bras have been padded. Is there a good kind of bra anyone can recommend for saggy breasts? I've always been a bit droopy, but then lost a bit of weight and they are much worse now. I want to feel sexy for my husband, he loves the way I look, but I'd like to see myself the way he sees me.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/03/2013 21:50

Bravissimo in Edinburgh. I'm worried about the price because she doesn't have much spare cash, but thought perhaps I could give it to her as a birthday present (birthday in April). And point out that if she finds one good bra she can look for others online. I might email her the fit guide once I've broached the subject, but otherwise it's a bit like saying 'your bra looks like crap!' without any gentle lead-in. I'm going to say something, though - will pick on my other 2 friends as well so it isn't all about her. We've all been friends for 17-odd years so should be relatively unthreatening, I hope.

forgossake · 01/03/2013 21:50

Hi SC and everyone. This thread is fab.
I measure 36 underneath and 44 over. All my bras are 36/38C and I find shopping for them is torture.
I had a fitting in M&S about a year ago and they came up with the size I always wear but we still couldn't find a bra that actually fitted well.
Would love to know what size you suggest.
Looking forward to trying the scooping in the morning as well Grin

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 21:51

Samra :( I think we have all been through the "wtf has happened to me" stage!

Where do you mean by the extra fabric? Sorry, just trying to work out what it is that's bothering you so we can suggest solutions.

It sounds like you might possibly be one back size too small - which bra is it you are trying? If you are a little empty at the top then certain shapes will be prone to gaping.

SamraLee Give us some measurements and I/we can suggest styles.

dougal73 · 01/03/2013 21:55

Hello bra guru's :). I am a big boobed girl who until being measured correctly as a 36F in Bravissimo was wearing a 42C (good old M&S);). However that was 5 years ago and 2 children, BF etc plus never getting round to losing baby weight has made my boobs mahoosive. I am too shy to get them measured and am currently wearing a 40HH (eeeek) but it does not feel quite right. My measurements are 41 and 54 blushes . Thank you in advance x

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/03/2013 21:57

Now...I appreciate that some ladies have daintier boobs which don't go very far round, but.....wtf?!
