To think sofas are for sitting on, not lying on.

I know I am (maybe!) but for some reason it drives me mad that DH doesn't sit on the sofa, he always lies on it. If he wants to lie down, why doesn't he go upstairs instead of taking up all the room.
Grrr. . . Grin

YABU obviously Grin

Tee2072 · 21/02/2013 18:25

If its being hogged, then yes, sitting. If its just one person, lie away!

FlouncingMintyy · 21/02/2013 18:26

God, I would like on the sofa all the time if I possibly could.

AKissIsNotAContract · 21/02/2013 18:26

YABU, get a huge corner sofa, then you can both lay on it.

WheresTheCat · 21/02/2013 18:26

I can hear my Grandma saying it's lazy and untidy, and I resent having to ask to sit down too! Smile

YABU

It's all I want to do atm

sue52 · 21/02/2013 18:26

YABU. Unless he's keeping you off it.

Tinuviel · 21/02/2013 18:26

YABU! But this is why we have a very big corner sofa so that I can lie on it and there is still space for 3 DCS. DH has a big chair of his own that no one else is allowed to sit in while he is in the room!

BoundandRebound · 21/02/2013 18:27

You need bigger sofas, or one each

GregBishopsBottomBitch · 21/02/2013 18:27

YABU, i base my sofa choices on laying comfort.

ScarletLady02 · 21/02/2013 18:28

We have one each, a two seater and a three seater. I get the three seater because I'm taller than DH Grin

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/02/2013 18:28

YABU.

Sitting is very uncomfortable.

WheresTheCat · 21/02/2013 18:29

Unfortunately we have a very tiny house, otherwise he would have his own sofa!
Am I the only one who never lies on the sofa? I (must be) very very unreasonable!

YABU - dh and I both like to relax with our legs up

JollyRedGiant · 21/02/2013 18:30

We bought a corner sofa for this reason.

Sorry that this is not helpful!

FloatyFlo · 21/02/2013 18:30

My two year old year would say yabu.

Sofas are for jumping/climbing/generally destroying.

And they make an excellent canvas for crayon artwork.

I am exhausted and this had me want to lie down, sofa, anywhere

Bogeyface · 21/02/2013 18:33

If he doesnt move so you can sit down without being asked then he is being selfish, but his NBU to lie on the sofa, thats why I have 2 instead of 1 and armchairs!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 21/02/2013 18:35

I have a tiny house but I squeezed two sofas into it. I'm not sitting bolt upright in my own house for anyone! :o

MrsRajeshKoothrappali · 21/02/2013 18:37

Our sofas fully recline.

So you can lie without taking up more than your allocated third.

germyrabbit · 21/02/2013 18:38

life is knackering why stand when you can sit, why sit when you can lie down Grin

badguider · 21/02/2013 18:38

Impossible to relax with your feet on the ground imo. If there's no space for him to lie on the sofa then you need footstools.

TheChimpParadox · 21/02/2013 18:39

We have two sofas (just about get in the room) plently of room to lie about - dog has her own spot too .

You know YABU. Wink

Have a Wine but for gods sake don't spill it on the sofa !

FellatioNels0n · 21/02/2013 18:40

YABVU. They are for both, obviously. I would never buy a sofa that was not comfortable to lie on, and unless I have my laptop or a tray of food on my lap I would always rather lie down to watch TV than sit upright. .
