everytime i drive on the motorway an audi is up my arse flashing me to move over. on crimewatch just now an audi driver ploughed into some pedestrians in a town centre.

what it is about an audi that makes people drive like morons?

OP posts:
Truffkin · 15/02/2013 16:23

I just got rid of an Audi today so you can think what you like now Grin

Moominsarehippos · 15/02/2013 16:30

I have found that Mini drivers are getting a bit arsey too. All this cheeky 'nipping' in and out of the traffic. And they new ones are just Too Big. Not Minis but Maxis.

atthewelles · 15/02/2013 16:43

Seriously Abycat, can you not see how ironic your post was? I know you clarified in a later post that he doesn't speed or tailgate but that was not the impression your initial post gave.

nonameslefttouse · 15/02/2013 17:01

Well that's it then I'm going from a cunt (4x4) to a twat (Audi) then!!

Don't know which label I prefer really!

WileyRoadRunner · 15/02/2013 17:11

nonames you need a Q7 so you be a cunting twat!

WileyRoadRunner · 15/02/2013 17:11

*can be grrr.

Rosa · 15/02/2013 17:13

Well dh and I are then as we love our Audi ..we are abroad though where it is part of the driving test to tailgate, cut you up, not know how to use a roundabout, flash lights regularly and not to wear seatbelts. However we trog along happily usally in the middle/ inside lane generally don't cut people up .

YABU.

The worst drivers are those in blue cars with 09 number plates and grey interior. Diesel drivers are ok but all petrol drivers are wankers. I also find that people with National Trust stickers on their windows are idiots with the exception of National Trust drivers with 08 number plates they are ok.

ArethaSnellHutt · 15/02/2013 18:55

On the one hand YABU because I have an Audi, as do my husband and my dad. We're all very considerate drivers, never had accidents, never had any points on our licences. We don't tailgate, hog the middle lane and we know where our indicators are. We wanted good looking safe and well built cars to drive, well actually mine was a wedding present from DH. (I've also had two BMWs)

On the other hand YANBU because you did say "mostly" and I think the "mostly" are probably company car drivers.

Beaverfeaver · 15/02/2013 19:01

I drive bmw's and once had an Audi Tt.

Hated the Audi so sold it after 2 months and went back to another BMW.

People on the road treat me differently driving those cars than when I was in a mini

JamesBlonde · 15/02/2013 19:14

Fantastic German cars. Solid as a rock. Lurrv my Audi RS3 and won't be changing it anytime soon. Has 4 doors so easy to put DD in back. Boot big enough for nanas wheelchair. Every conceivable comfort to afford a great drive and Quattro too so straight off the mark. Oh and it looks the bees knees and is as fast as hell. Finally it sounds like a dream. I love driving. UABU until you have driven one yourself.

WhatKindofFool · 15/02/2013 19:27

UABU it is 4x4 drivers that are mostly driven by idiots.

monkeyisback · 15/02/2013 19:32

Bit of a generalisation I feel - we have a TT and drive sensibly. Also FIL has two Audi's and is one of the safest drivers I know Smile

Any car can be driven badly, just depends on who's behind the wheel.

Methe · 15/02/2013 19:41

I love my brand new bright red A4 and I'm a very considerate driver. The only offensive thing I do on the road is sing queen very loudly with the windows down! But if you don't like queen then I don't like you! Wink

TheSkiingGardener · 15/02/2013 19:51

Um, abycat, there is never any excuse for flashing the car in front to tell it to get out of your way. That is a cuntish thing to do.

And I speak as an Audi driver since 2004....

Gottalovecosta · 15/02/2013 22:49

Strongly agree. I highly suspect to buy an audi or bmw, you have to pass a moron test.

Wolfiefan · 15/02/2013 22:52

My DH drives an Audi. He's not a bad driver but... The idiot couldn't find his keys the other day. Got back to the car after working all day to find he had not locked it AND had left the keys on the dash!
Moron!

cluttercluttereverywhere · 15/02/2013 23:23

TheSkiingGardener has a point about it being cuntish but doesn't the Highway Code say you can flash your lights to let another driver know of your presence? Therefore, this would apply I think if you want to let another driver know you're behind him/her? and then they would obviously use their common sense and good driving abilities to slowly manoevure into the correct lane for their speed?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/02/2013 08:23

I have started to count Audis. In my cul de sac of 10 houses there are 5 alone - I think they are fairly popular cars. I'm in Sunderland too where Nissan is king!

VBisme · 16/02/2013 08:33

I think that it may be company car drivers that drive badly. BMW used to be the car of choice for the sales team, now they are "allowed" to choose an Audi instead they've all moved on to that instead.

NorthernNumpty · 16/02/2013 08:45

I have an Audi RS model and according to DH I drive it like 'miss Daisy'

I think Audi drivers get a bad press because audi's are often company or executive cars so you get people driving them who drive 30,000 miles a year and have no patience.

Personally I don't think any brand has the monopoly on twatish driving!

Of course it comes down to sales rep drivers, just as mums in their tractors doing the school run around Chelsea dragged down the 4x4.

I will defend my Audi, and am proud to drive it.

My biggest gripe is bus drivers and any driver who can't thank you for giving way. (having a personal battle with a mum currenty driving a blue skoda, who I seem to meet too many times, that doesn't mean all skoda drivers are rude Does it?)

ShellyBoobs · 16/02/2013 09:27

I drive an Audi Q7.

OH drives a BMW M3 with a big V8 engine.

We're not cunts, twats or wankers much.

One thing I really do detest is the 'mummy wagon'. You know, those wanky Shitroen and Renault van/car things (Picassos and Scenics or whatever) that some 'mummies' think they simply must have once they've bred. I'll bet there's a special Nethuns model. Grin
