I think her opinions change with her current personal situation or what she has been required to write copy on. A few years ago, she was publicly in the business of trying to become one of those detested middle class mums in their thirties and forties. She didn't, but wrote many an unpleasant article about the process. One was charmingly a about her attempts at "sperm stealing". I dislike the fact that she is allowed to make money for a paper with her nasty drivel, but I think Liz Jones herself is one sad, mixed up individual requiring therapy and pity. Probably. If not she's nasty and bitter.

She doesn't mind working class mums because she doesn't envy or want what they have to go alongside the children. I'm guessing that she directs the hate towards the very thing she always wanted-a middle class lifestyle including children. Very sad-I'd guess that most mumsnetters have something they could be bitter about if they chose to. But it's poisoning yourself to do that.

But I swear she isn't half as mad/disturbed/angry as she makes out. She's making good money out of this persona. Yes, there must be an element of truth in there, but I think she's actually very clever at pitching herself as the unhinged columnist we love to hate. For one thing, if I see there's a Liz Jones thread on here I will click on it, settle back with a nice cup of tea and enjoy the piss-taking/outrage etc. And 9 times out of 10 I will click on the link to Jizz's article too, as they are generally hilariously unhinged.

We need an appointed Liz Jones reader on MN. One person, in rotation who reads the article and tells the rest of us so to stop the DM making money from your clicks.
