Look at the last 39 threads and ask yourself is this normal or are people a bit silly?

Fakebook · 26/01/2013 21:57

Really worried about other people and their down right lack of common sense and knowledge.

I agree. Thickos.

habbibu · 26/01/2013 21:59

But I will, tethers. It's my mission, for the brief moments I'm here, to make MN a Politer Place.

Hello, Cap'n!

Valpollicella · 26/01/2013 21:59

Indeed. Tap my heed. Is hollow

itsallinmyhead · 26/01/2013 22:00

Habbibu, I'd say tethers is bang on in your thread.

hf128219 · 26/01/2013 22:01

It's just the silly phrases like hoiking, MN royalty (wtf), aunty flo, fruit bowls, fruit shoots et al.

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 26/01/2013 22:02

Fruit bowls?

EduCated · 26/01/2013 22:02

Apart from MN royalty, I hear all of those in real life. And it's been like this as long as I've been here Confused

amillionyears · 26/01/2013 22:02

Agent. I dont know. I am too stupid to be able to tell you!

KenLeeeeeee · 26/01/2013 22:03

Ha! If you think questions about cars & mortgages make internet people seem daft, you're in for a shock looking at this: www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/dumbest-things-ever-said-on-the-internet

usualsuspect · 26/01/2013 22:04

I've never seen anyone fruit bowl on MN.

amillionyears · 26/01/2013 22:05

hf, look and post in different categories.
Have a look on the Full Topics list.
There is some educated stuuf going on, and perhaps you could offer more advice with peoples problems.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 26/01/2013 22:05

Oh this is just a stealthy

I think you're all sad wankers thread.

Drip fed much?

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2013 22:05

I think this thread is bizarre TBH. You either want to be on MN or you don't.

AgentZigzag · 26/01/2013 22:06

I love it being described as 'Le Pong' Tethers Grin It brings up all the old stereotyping/rivalry between us and the Cheese Eaters.

Nobody uses 'aunty flo' do they OP? I've never seen it. They're just in jokes.

Do they make you feel a bit excluded?

KenLeeeeeee · 26/01/2013 22:06

Oh my, what if the OP is Sharon & we've all been rumbled?

amillionyears · 26/01/2013 22:07

Have a break for a month.
You will either miss it, or forget all about it.

habbibu · 26/01/2013 22:08

But any group of people sharing a "speech community" of sorts for a while will develop their own terminology - I defy you to find anywhere that doesn't. I don't like some of it, but don't see why people who do should have to accommodate my tastes - why should they adhere to your rules/tastes?

hf128219 · 26/01/2013 22:09

I suppose it's like meeting honey bowls at the school gates and having an epiphany.

OP posts:
habbibu · 26/01/2013 22:11

Honey bowls? Fruit bowls? WHAT?

WorraLiberty · 26/01/2013 22:12

OP I've got a good idea

Why don't you start an interesting thread and we'll all post on it?

habbibu · 26/01/2013 22:13

She has - it's about the changing usage of the word bowls which is bewildering anyone over 40. Or maybe just me.

Valpollicella · 26/01/2013 22:13

Wha'? Honey bowls? Hf, do tell....? I m here alllll the time and not a fruiting clue as to honey bowls?

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2013 22:13

I have never met a honey bowl at the school gates.

AgentZigzag · 26/01/2013 22:14

Why should the OP bother when we're all posting on her uninteresting thread worra?

Too thick to know the difference, see?

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2013 22:14

So there is a bowls thread? Confused
