For me it would probably be:

Not reading the OP properly and going off on a tangent
Pulling a thread totally OT in order to have a two way jokey conversation with someone else that goes on for pages and pages
Looking up someone's posting history and saying 'well on 5th April 2006 you said this and now you're saying that.

OP posts:
TheOriginalSteamingNit · 24/01/2013 19:11

Ok, laqueen, I guess that just wasn't the main thing I remembered about the thread. I remember thinking it was unreasonable, and that I wouldn't like to do it, and some people felt that too, only much more strongly. Also, as I say, she didn't 'mention' it, she asked if it was unreasonable to do it, which obviously tends to encourage a strong response.

Pagwatch · 24/01/2013 19:11

I can never understand posters who can't apologise.
What's that all about?
Watching someone tie themselves in knots rather than apologise when they have been a bit of a wanker baffles me.
Why not just say 'sorry. I am being a bit of a wanker'
We all are sometimes.

Hullygully · 24/01/2013 19:12

I dunno what buffs are LaQ, Jim Broadbent (as Dennis) says it to Maggie in The Iron Lady, "Steady the buffs" I think acksherly and I was quite took with it.

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/01/2013 19:12

Mean spirited is a phrase I often use on MN.
It's a perfect description of many posters. I use it in real life too, but I've never seen so many people as on here, that are just, well, mean spirited.
Which is why I stick to the funny threads, which unfortunately for some, are usually started by regulars.
Sorry Po's, but that's a fact.

I don't know LaQueen personally by the way. But I like to be nice.
And chat. And wave.

Sometimes I like to be an utter cunt as well but I don't take offense if anyone points that out Grin

Pagwatch · 24/01/2013 19:16

I didn't assume anything.

I said the accusations made are often made in a certain way, implying certain things.

Are you trying very hard to make this personal because I am talking in general terms and i have said i am happy that you see this differently.

AmberLeaf · 24/01/2013 19:16

Tantrums, nothing wrong with being friendly to 'people' you 'know' at all, not in the slightest.

I think I explained it well enough in my PP.

HighJinx · 24/01/2013 19:17

I absolutely cannot accept that there are posters who come on to a thread, ignore the OP and the actual subject and just post "hi LaQueen. How's your life going these days? Any news?"

But this comes back to people not reading the thread I think.

Thread about washing up :

P1 - I never rinse after washing and no-one in my house is ever sick
P2 - Oh not rinsing is rank
P1 - Hello P2 how are you?
P2 -
P3 - Bloody MN Royalty cliche

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/01/2013 19:18

LaQueen is a snobby cow Grin but she knows she is and laughs at herself.
I love her.

SPsFanjoIsAsComfyAsAOnesie · 24/01/2013 19:18

Sometimes I like to be an utter cunt as well

That's so true Tantrums Grin

You night have to report yourself though as that's technically a personal attack on yourself.

AmberLeaf · 24/01/2013 19:21

How am I making this personal Pagwatch?

I have responded to repeated requests for 'proof' that is all.

If anything I have tried to express that it is not personal to those who appear to have taken it personally.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/01/2013 19:22

Grin SP true.

I wonder if I will get deleted for attacking myself?

thebody · 24/01/2013 19:22

Who would say 'you are not allowed to wave and nod' no one I think. Very few posters would care or even read.

That's the great thing about mumsnet you can do what the fuck you like as its not RL.

For me enough waving and niceness in RL so buggered if doing that crisp here.

But I am a miserable old cow.

If I have favouritesit's worra and MreDevere. Often don't agree with them but they are funny.

CheerfulYank · 24/01/2013 19:24

I can't keep up with this!

aoife24 · 24/01/2013 19:26

People who say something a bit rude or off and end it with 'sorry' They're not sorry, so why say it?

Pagwatch · 24/01/2013 19:26

Well then, rather marvellously, it is all miscommunication.

I was talking in general terms about how the 'bloody royalty talking across everyone in a cliquey way' accusations are often made by shit stirring wankers but was not referring to your comments upthread.

And your comments about people waving at each other across tragic threads were not aimed at regulars/royalty and I should not imagine they were.

So that's all sorted Smile

NicholasTeakozy · 24/01/2013 19:27

LaQueen, Steady The Buffs refers to The Buff Medways. Not, unfortunately, the rock band featuring the talents of Billy Childish, nor does it refer to the breed of chicken, but it refers to a Kentish infantry (I think) regiment whose nickname was The Buffs.

SPsFanjoIsAsComfyAsAOnesie · 24/01/2013 19:27

Tantrums You will find out soon enough. Olivia will be aheming here in no time Grin

For a long time I didn't like people using the bear smiley but it was just jealousy. It took me nearly a year to ask how you did it and I felt like a right dick when I was told how Bear

NicholasTeakozy · 24/01/2013 19:29

:o

FlouncingMintyy · 24/01/2013 19:29

Haven't read whole thread Grin but been out earning a pittance all day today. I have read about half of it though.

Just wanted to wholeheartedly agree with Slubber's rant about the million slow cooker threads.

My other HUGE bugbear at the moment is overuse of the sodding Report button. Stop it at once you ninnies!

Pagwatch · 24/01/2013 19:31

I love it when Olivia 'ahems'.
So effective, it's like a magic throat clear.

SPsFanjoIsAsComfyAsAOnesie · 24/01/2013 19:35

I imagine Olivia ahems in real life too with this face on while she does it Hmm

I bet she walks into rooms of children carrying on and just Ahems and silence descends upon the room.

StairsInTheNight · 24/01/2013 19:35

i come on MN for fun, usually, and fine it boring and annoying when there is a wet blanket on an amusing thread. And noone is allowed to laugh because they are not amused.

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/01/2013 19:37

Waves back to CheerfulYank.
Fuck, she really is always cheerful and happy.
It must be an American thing.
