For me it would probably be:

Not reading the OP properly and going off on a tangent
Pulling a thread totally OT in order to have a two way jokey conversation with someone else that goes on for pages and pages
Looking up someone's posting history and saying 'well on 5th April 2006 you said this and now you're saying that.

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 24/01/2013 17:09

I don't mind the hand holding stuff. It's nice to get some support sometimes.

Makes MN seem like a friendlier place, and I don't see whats wrong with that.

RandallPinkFloyd · 24/01/2013 17:09

But it's a fucking behemoth. I've never seen the like.

I live on a tiny one-way street, it took him 2 attempts to park it. He took so long the first time that traffic formed behind him so he had to drive all the way round and start again.

It's got Navara written on the back, I don't know what make that is. He had a Peugeot this morning!

I've never mixed MN and RL but my cover will be well and truly blow when you see me on the news.

BupcakesAndCunting · 24/01/2013 17:09

Instead of a thread asking for hand-holding/support, I might set up a fight thread.

You can say which MNer you'd like to fight and it can be done in heats. I will do all the arranging.

I might even take bets.

SPsFanjoIsAsComfyAsAOnesie · 24/01/2013 17:13

Just wanted to say I have just seen by first "discusting" outside of MN!

How people mess that up i dont know

ledkr · 24/01/2013 17:16

I hate posters who have a different view to you which is fine but are all cross and aggressive about it just because you don't agree.
Eg. I like chocolate!
"We'll I don't and you must be stupid to like it because its unhealthy so there"
Grown women can disagree without shittyness surely.

mindosa · 24/01/2013 17:18

Competitive misery is very tiresome as is the mumjacking

Oh to go to the loo by myself
Oh not to be covered in poo and vomit
Why oh why?

So is competitive perfection

I do a job millions would love....
I live the life of dreams my husband is such a super provider I just have coffee and walk through poppy fields all day.......

blah blah blah

Absy · 24/01/2013 17:19

Fight thread - LOVE it.

I did this at work once, I spent a whole afternoon discussing who would be able to beat who in a fight. It's awesome.

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/01/2013 17:20

I've just had a competitive misery type post on another thread.Wink

Absy · 24/01/2013 17:21

I also don't like this whole "unMNy hugs".

We hug each other, virtually, get over it

ResolutelyCheeky · 24/01/2013 17:21

I dislike op's who start a thread and then don't take the time to reply to ever single poster that has taken time out of their very busy days to post on their thread. It's just rude!

Eh?

Angelfootprints · 24/01/2013 17:26

I cannot BELIEVE someone on here was making jokes about Ruth's. You think Ruth's of mouths are actually funny? Just so low.

Do you know how insensitive that is too Ruth's?

I knew a Ruth once and she even had a mouth

Im deeply offended on her behalf because I know she would want be to me.

You should be Ashamed.

Absy · 24/01/2013 17:27

So, in summary (for me at least)

"what do other posters do that annoys you?"

"post"

DontEvenThinkAboutIt · 24/01/2013 17:29

I don't like posters who diagnose Aspergers based on a few paragraphs. It happens all the time. Confused

I also don't like posters who are mean or rude.

PoppyAmex · 24/01/2013 17:30

Competitive misery is annoying, but so is the whole slattern persona thing

  • "I haven't cleaned my house in months"
  • "Months? That's nothing. My children are covered in mould and the dog has been eaten by spiders. Are you OCD or something? You must be very boring because you CLEAN."

And someone always comes along to say that unlike cobwebs "babies don't keep" ARGH!

PoppyAmex · 24/01/2013 17:31

Posted too soon - just wanted to shout:

Being dirty doesn't make you interesting!

PrincessFiorimonde · 24/01/2013 17:32

arf at Absy.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/01/2013 17:34

I think absy summed it up spectularly well.

what do posters do that annoy you?
post

usualsuspect · 24/01/2013 17:35

See, it's the other way round that annoys me.All the , I have a shower every hour ,I wash my all my towels every day etc.

Now that's boring.

herewegoloubylou · 24/01/2013 17:36

Agree very much with the OP's OP, and with Amberleaf's posts.

All the stuff for pages and pages, on what started off as an interesting thread on a serious topic is bloody annoying, especially since (presumably intentionally) it ends the debate.

Iteotwawki · 24/01/2013 17:37

Should of, would of, could of ... It's have! Or 've.
Been instead of being.
Textspeak.

Hullygully · 24/01/2013 17:38

still waiting for any examples of that...snogging on a serious thread

usualsuspect · 24/01/2013 17:39

I've never seen a serious thread derailed on MN.

What about the competitive lunch box threads.

I send my child in with a 3 tier stainless steel box contains chicken casserole, veg and pudding.

Really? Really?

But are you aware he dashes it in the bin at lunch time and shares his friends kit Kat, crisps, and chocolate spread sandwhich.

I actually got told off of the only time I ventured on to one of those threads because my DCs make their own lunch.

"But how do you know they are eating a decent lunch??"

Well, they are 13&14. So tbh I don't care if they eat crisps and chocolate tbh.
That did not make me popular.
