For me it would probably be:

Not reading the OP properly and going off on a tangent
Pulling a thread totally OT in order to have a two way jokey conversation with someone else that goes on for pages and pages
Looking up someone's posting history and saying 'well on 5th April 2006 you said this and now you're saying that.

OP posts:

pictish she was, wasn't she? And she could take it back too Grin

GetOrf · 24/01/2013 16:22

I loved that tayo thread

pictish · 24/01/2013 16:22

She totally could. I always like the posters who (like me) are impervious to being insulted. She'd take it and carry gaily on. I loved that. Grin

TandB · 24/01/2013 16:24

Has Fabby gone? I thought she had namechanged. I thought I saw some similarities between her and another poster I'm seeing around a lot at the moment.

Absy · 24/01/2013 16:25

Here's the Tayo Thread. It starts off all nice and "well, I'm not so sure, isn't it normally Taio?" and then BOOM "it's so that it fits into the tattoo on DP's arm".

GetOrf · 24/01/2013 16:27

And om that thread is the MNer with the best name 'YunoYurbubson'

It took me months to work that one out.

Absy · 24/01/2013 16:27

and Mamalazarou coming on "DAYLIGHT COME AND ME WANNA GO HOME"

WorraLiberty · 24/01/2013 16:27

Ginger upmanship gets on my nerves too.

"AIBU to be upset that MIL called my baby's hair ginger?"

Ooooh I simply love red hair, it's the most amazing shade of hair in the whole world.

I was gutted when I realised my baby wouldn't have the same beautiful shade of auburn hair as his Dad's beard and pubes.

Well I laid on the hospital bed and cried big stringy snot candles because my baby didn't have amazing red hair like her cousin.

I'd fuck any man, woman or stray cat with ginger hair...I love it soooo much.

I've had my head surgically removed and replaced with Ed Sheeran's...that's how much I love ginger hair.

Jeez, yes we get it Hmm

snowtimelikethepresent · 24/01/2013 16:28

It's ruth of your mouth pronounced and spelt the same as Ruth the name.

Apologies (especially in the light of this thread's subject matter) I have come late to this, and the moment may well have passed, but not it fucking well isn't! It's ROOF.

Have horrid feeling I have missed out of piss take here.....

GetOrf · 24/01/2013 16:29

And after 130 posts of silliness someone comes on and states very simply 'I am not very keen'.

Which shows people must RTFT.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/01/2013 16:30

getorf I don't get it. I keep saying the name but I don't get it??????

snowtimelikethepresent · 24/01/2013 16:31

Can't believe I fell for it!

GetOrf · 24/01/2013 16:31

Tantrums I was the same.

The name says 'you know your bubz, hun'

BIWI · 24/01/2013 16:33

That thread is brilliant bonkers! I must read baby names more often.

TENDTOprocrastinate · 24/01/2013 16:33

Too much swearing (especially the C word)

TantrumsAndBalloons · 24/01/2013 16:34

Ah FFS. Of course it does.

Thanks getorf

It was really annoying me. I kept saying it out loud in different ways like an idiot. With a funny screwed up face as well, like that was going to help.

GetOrf · 24/01/2013 16:35

GetOrf · 24/01/2013 16:36

I did the same tantrums - someone had to explain it exactly as I explained it to you. Grin

I did wonder who Yuno was. I assumed it was some scottish pop star from the 70s or something Hmm

  • People who use loads of cliquey acronyms that no one else understands - even after they've consulted the site guide.

  • People who obviously spend about 23 and a half hours a day on Mumsnet and are considered by themselves, and others, to be site royalty. You find that every comment they make is lauded as being variously the most funny/knowledgeable/insightful/witty etc.

People who complain to Mumsnet Towers about comments others and claim they offend against the chat policy simply* because they've taken issue with them. The other day some woman said "I've got stuff going on and I just wasn't in the mood to hear that today". Well, I suggest if you've "got stuff going on" and are that touchy you don't log onto an online chatsite which is populated by thousands of diverse people, with divergant views. You might find they don't always say exactly what you'd like to hear and that they may hold an opposing view to you. Neither of these things necessarily mean they're trolls or have offended against or contravened any policy apart from not agreeing with you.

  • Hardcore man haters on relationship threads who just shout "get rid of him" as a default position.

  • People who start those perpetual threads with upwards of 300 posts on them. Each one has a silly cringeworthy title that the author probably spent ages thinking up and considers to be highly amusing and witty, like the ones you see about dieting and trying to conceive. Such threads are often prefaced "the tea room" or something similar and invariably feature offering and accepting virtual food and drink. Sorry, can't be coping with it.
