Oh, yesssss. The foil wrapped KitKat...the way you could slip off the outer paper, smooth the foil over the chocolate and then run a nail down the crevice to expose the kit kat...and then SNAP!
I just can't look a KitKit in the eye anymore. The thrill is gone.

Someone said they out soy in Roses. Confused Soy, in Roses WTAF!

Makes me glad I live over here, the "real" chocolate is still real and the milk stuff isn't likely to get any soy anytime soon. Elf and safety and Elfy eatin don't mean nuffin hereGrin

I can't forgive them for taking the coffee cream out of Roses. Yes, I am the freak that likes the coffee creams and proud of it. Grin

We need an MN Xmas Nomination thread but for those in need of real CDM (or Maltesers etc) chocolate...

Nominating yourself by all means but with donors who have access to Poundland/Lidl/Irish/wherever shops that sell the real stuff to get it to those who are truly in need Grin

Green and Black were taken over by a larger company, was it Kraft??

I will happily boycott CDM. I already boycot Terry's Chocolate Orange as they now make it in Czechoslovakia (I think) instead of York, Oh, and it's rubbish now.

Getting back on topic, I agree that Cadburys does not taste right any more and as it's not produced in the UK either. I am happy to boycott.

Sorry, should be *, I am happy to boycott.

CDM tastes like plastic now. Even Tesco's choc is better. I haven't bought any for ages so would be up for boycott.

Glad not just me used to adore roses now they just rank!

I have ha maybe 3 new shaped bars and its tastes different even my fave the whole but:(. will be studying packs now see where its made.

I live near the factory they said they were not shutting down.

hostile takeovers nasty why by a british firm then fuck with what was good.

Everythings getting smaller, less weight but going up.

how i remember the purple foil was lush.

The mutipack kit kats still have foil in corner shop,

ised to adore the mini dairy milks in the little tacky plastic dispenser and they came in mini bars in big square box that looked like large square matchbox.

do krafy not own cadburys ireland then?
2 different recipes maybe we need to ask irish retailers to ship luckily have a few mates in ireland. take it roses ruined forever even the cramel kegs changed shape and taste yuck, never been quality street fan. Milk tray also not as good.

Don't wish to sidetrack or anything but isn't it Kraft who buggered about with Marmite and made it all runny (ie probably watered it down?) Green and Black are now owned by Kraft. Thought there was something different about the Roses we got this Christmas. How do we protest about this please? Enough is enough....

Mmm coffee Ritter? May have to trek to the German shop in London Bridge for a fix. Highly recommend the yoghurt and cornflake flavours too, yum!
Cadburys and kitkat have gone downhill since the foil was taken off. I do hope they haven't messed with the fruit and nut.

Grrrrrrrr, have left a snarky comment on their Facebook page, the insincere recipe-meddling bastards.

I like 'Creamy Milk' by Green & Blacks's, but shall have to give it up if I join the boycott... Sad

Dear Cadbury dairy milk fakers,

Once apon a time I loved you, I would have walked bare foot for 19 miles in the rain just to hold you, I would have swoped my best bra just to smell your wonderful aroma, I would have hidden with you for hours in the dark as long as you were there. I would have fought almost to the death to defend your honor.hell has not yet invented anything I wouldn't have done in exchange for half an hour in your company.

You and I we had a thing going,it was special it was magical and I remained faithful to you and you alone.

So you repay me by depriving me of corners and changing, your changing wasn't even for self development ohhhh nooooooooo nothing so selfless for you, just self self self

I never want to see you again, please shut the door on your way out and never darken my doorstep again.

Dairy milk hasn't been the same since they got rid of the purple foil.

They've definitely changed the recipe have they. I don't like it anymore.

The Flakes are not the same either.

The wrapper is wrong.

They are shorter.

They don't taste as flakey

Is nothing sacred? Sad

The multipacks of 4 bars in my local Tesco are still PROPER CDM (this thread made me NEED chocolate...). And the multipacks are on offer for £1 right now.

[Going to stock up emoticon]

I want PROPER Dairy Milk, not stuff that tastes of talcum powder.

The recipe for CDM in the UK is different from the CDM in NZ.

So it's obviously changed somewhere in the last 100 years!

UK: milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, vegetable fat, emulsifiers (e442, e476), flavourings.

NZ: Legal Description: Milk Chocolate

Ingredients: Full Cream Milk, Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Milk Solids, Emulsifiers (Soya Lecithin, 476), Flavours. May contain traces of Nuts. Milk Chocolate contains Cocoa Solids 26%, Milk Solids 28%

What's the betting the vegetable fat in the uk bars is palm oil? Thinking of not boycotting it here to prove that the original shape & recipe sells. Or I could defect to Whittaker's altogether (nz choc manufacturer) who make solid bars of heaven. In foil :)
