They have ruined Dairy Milk.

Bloody Kraft. I want the square shape back.

Well as others have pointed out, Kraft do make a 'cheese-like product', perhaps they are aiming for a 'chocolate-like product' now.

I live in the US and we buy CDM as a treat and family bring it to us when they come over. No real point now. It was the nostalgia that kept us wanting more. Get rid of that and why not buy other chocolate, it isn't hard to lay your hands on it here if you know what you are looking for. Bring back the purple foil! Generations of Brits grew up making purple foil rings and purple foil 'paper' aeroplanes. They want to buy that for their kids to do too.

Ritter Sport Yogurt is my favourite chocolate bar ever

We are ritter sport yoghurt fans too.

The new aeros look stupid and blobby too.

Count yourself lucky! Cadburys are manufactured by Hershey's herebin the USA. Hershey's! Not even manufactured by its own makers, but delegated to the worst chocolate maker ever. Things I miss about the UK- tea. Yes,stereotyped you could say, but the biggest brand here is Lipton, which I hate. No nice tea at all. Maltesers, sticky toffee puddings at family cafe restaurant things, hula hoops, not to mention what I miss from Sweden, where I'm from, things like acquavit, which is herring, Milka bars. I miss Cadbury most though!

Herroyalgoddess that should be the slogan for the Mumsnet campaign:

"You can't improve on perfection, you can however fuck it up"

I don't remember the purple foil wrapper, must have been before my time. I do remember KitKats having the foil and paper wrapping though. They're just not the same now you can't do that running your fingernail down the foil thing.

I agree about the lack of proper tea and nice chocolate in the US. Hershey's is vile and Lipton tea is just...meh.

Very shrewd marketing
10% less chocolate in each bar and marketing it as an improvement.
Like the great OXO cube swindle!

Lipton tea is shit , isn't it? Tea for people who don't like tea. Or tasty things.

I've never ever ever had Ritter Sport.
In light of recent CDM events, I may need to rectify this.

Bugger off you Yanks and leave our chocolate alone!! Shall we come over there and change the shape of the classic and well loved Hersheys Kiss? No! because we know better!!

Not shrewd if the customers hate it.

Skratta, where are you? We can buy a good number of different Brit teas here in So Cal. It was a lot harder though when we first came here. We can also buy things like Maltesers but pay a HUGE premium. I thought Aquavit was a spirit? Bevmo sell it.

I can't find skips or monster munch or thorntons though.

I feel like a bit of a traitor to the cause because I really like the new shape with the Cadbury Caramel. It just feels nicer in my mouth.

This is a disaster .

My grandad would be so upset (he was a high up manager type at Cadbury's for 50yrs, hence we had a childhood of lots of lovely Cadbury's and I am LIVID when they go and change things like this)

Already pissed off at Cadbury's today because someone bought me a large box of Roses and there was only ONE hazel whirl in there. Only one of the buggers and about 10 bloody strawberry creams. Sold out, they have.

Please don't tell me the taste has changed too

Cadbury's is in my blood, man. How am I going to cope now?

It takes ages to melt now and doesn't melt properly. I used to love fruit and nut but it just doesn't work right now Sad. I know we are taking the piss on this thread but it does actually make me sad and regretful. I remember the old adverts with the glass and a half of milk pouring into every bar and my mouth used to water. Was my most favourite chocolate growing up, the mid sized bar with the purple foil in little squares.

Kraft are wankers honestly they really are for doing this.

I am moving permanently to Lindt. There is nothing else to be done.

I just bloody knew Kraft would fuck everything up.

IMO the taste has changed and not for the better. The shape is all wrong too.

So does anyone know which chocolate tastes most like the old CDM? Galaxy has always been a bit oily for me, is Lindt the way to go?

Report
DrCoconut · 08/01/2013 18:36

So I didn't imagine it. We were discussing the apparent taste change in CDM only a short time ago.

Did someone mention Ritter Sport? I love them. Particularly the coffee and marzipan ones.

I haven't tried the coffee Ritter Sport.Envy I want one now.

Lipton tea is awful I agree. It seems to be all that's on offer when you go to France or Spain, and it's barely drinkable. I love their peach iced tea though,if not as much as Nestea.I wish we could get that here.

Report
LittleAbruzzenBear · 08/01/2013 18:58

Lipton is all you get in Italy too, although the lemon one is weirdly nice. Nestea is nice.

You have to try a coffee Ritter, it's delicious!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention - I had thought it was me at fault. Stupid Kraft feckers - I loved fruit & nuts but they haven't felt right for a while. I'll back your campaign - boycott Kraft!!!!
