Why are:

  1. Certain items of clothing = "mumsy" eg bootcuts, tunics, some boots but not others (forget which)
  1. Short wide jumpers are inherently better than others
  1. Anyone over a size 12 = fat
  1. Fat = mumsy
  1. That thinking the above makes you a cleverer and more knowing alnd all-round better person with a slight pitying disdain for those that don't agree.

Lastly I would like a definition of "Mumsy" and why it is an insult.

Thank you.

I havn't gone to bed yet, I poked the fire so I'm still sittingbhere.
Is your hair long or short? Mine's always short so it really is just chopping. I do sometimes look like Winona Ruder in ? the one where she's in a mental health hospital but I just get DH to even it up.

Girl Intetupted! Rhanks I don't mean I look like Winona ryder though! Just her hair in that film.
Is this book a bit sad on the horses front? I'm a bit anthropomorphic. I don't want any more sad horsey eyes. I can't watch any films with animals in either.
If it's just grown adults and blood that's fine. Just not the sad horsey eyes Sad

Yes! Sorry, I was thinking it was a euphemism Blush
I just can't do it. My mum has been telling me to read Call of the Wild for years and years.
Lull in the conversation? Have you read Call of the Wild yet Tufty?
No, I bloody havn't.
So, can I read The Sisters Brothers?

IneedAsockamnesty · 06/12/2012 23:47

I have no idea what you are all talking about but I do know with absolute certainty that I really want a where's wally jumper that's at least 4 sizes to big for me

And I don't give a shiney shit if its mumsey or not

Then you should get one sock.
Don't read Sisters? Or Call of the Wild? I can't watch the film either. I'm happy to have that cultural gap.

I don't know DH tuned the radio to radio 6 at the weekend and now I can't switch channels. Still, I'm quite liking it. I was given it ad a present a while ago. I think things happen like that though.

I shall.

Notafoodbabyanymore · 07/12/2012 00:17

Oh, hate being 8 hours ahead, I'm always asleep when the funny stuff happens.

Clothes with questionable emotions has had me giggling. How can a jacket be witty? Seriously? Does it just murmur pithy one liners and asides as you go about your day?

I have a spiteful skirt which makes me think I look nice, until I see photos of myself in it. Bastard!

Notafoodbabyanymore · 07/12/2012 00:18

But my arrogant monacle makes up for it.

TuftyFinch · 07/12/2012 00:26

Don't let them fox! Although, I don't mind a foxes book because they age just like us. I measure out my life in coffee spoons and all that.
Yea, so^ buy it. Really, if it makes you happy.
If you're 8 hors ahead, can you know if the rain will stop? I think a witty jacket is like a Limerick in clothes form.
I must go to bed before I wake up.
Night all.

TuftyFinch · 07/12/2012 00:28

I didn't mean to write yea. I don't write yea as a general rule.

Notafoodbabyanymore · 07/12/2012 00:32

Hahaha... Well it's forecast to rain here all day. Does that help?

Love picturing the clothing equivalent of a limerick. A filthy limerick? Or just a normal one?

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents · 07/12/2012 07:22

I don't think I have ever been on a thread with Tufty that hasn't had some mention of either Mr Prufrock or obscure-but-important European legislation.
Is there nothing to protect us from Frump, Tufty? In your Big Book of Laws?

TuftyFinch · 07/12/2012 07:33

Nothing Sue. We're doomed. I'll check again though.

HullyEastergully · 07/12/2012 08:54

Oh here we are again...

I know: Eliot clothes

An S&B thread with deletions! I love it Xmas Grin Did it get really, really narsty.
Was if tunics and boot cuts vs skinnies and square jumpers?

I really like S&B FWIW, really useful sometimes. But I do wear what I damn well like, so the tunic/boot cut thing diesn't bother me at all..

HullyEastergully · 07/12/2012 09:17

No, just one arsey person who hadn't rtft getting all up in my grill.
