I think I'm definitely an outsider on MN, my kids arent gifted, we aren't rich, dammit we both have the work, full time! we don't live in a castle, shopat waitrose and certainly don't eat this good ham that y'all talk about

My DH and I also both work full time, I wear size 20 clothes from Sainsburys, DS is coping at a normal state school, I shop at Aldi and we live in a tatty rented house. Bloody hell, my DS even drinks Coke and I put sugar on his weetabix!

Oh thank god!!! It's a terrifying world out ere, allow their kids are well smart! Lol. While we're confessing my six year old cant read novels and my 3 year old seems to think its funny to say jeebers christ when something goes wrong.

On the subject of clothes, I wear george lol - I think sainsburys may be a step above that!

And as for ham, my kids like billy bear - I'm not even sure that's from a farm animal

Yet another commoner here, I have never worn Boden and I even drink rose wine.

I don't live in a Castle. Think more 'new build' house. My DD will be going to local primary school and I shop at Lidl and Asda.

Rite now my kids are rolling aero bubbles across the living room into each others open mouths...but it's okay, cos I vacuuumed....not with a dyson mind

Gosh I am not posh and I love posting. I onlyy work 16 hrs and have high rate WTC and CTC have been a single mum since ds was 4 moths old. Wouldn't know what to do with a husband if he came up and parked himself on my leather sofa. I shop in asda which is the worst supermarket and now and again lidls and I drink £4:99 rose wine and my dc love coco pops.

I do cook my own gammon joint for ham so I might be slightly posher then you OP

Well I definitely don't fit in!! I'm not a mum!! But I did get hooked on this site when I was pregnant (for a whole 8wks) and won't leave now. I do hope to be a mum, but I definitely don't in the maternal sense. I see posts from mothers from all walks of life and that is the common thread IMO. Not income, Geography or status. Just a bunch of mums in a 'classless' net society, sharing. (Unless I'm actually on the website equivalent of the first Titanic lifeboat and haven't realised) One day I hope to be less 'fraudulent' and be a real mum on MN!!

Aw wheezy,,you can come under our rock...it's not light and warm, and it's certainly not organic, but there's rose wine (a bit warm) and wafer thin ham!

I have no idea why they are a no no, laminate flooring is as well and feature walls colour coordinated furniture, family pictures, and only white towels.

basically it has to of been your great grandparents for it to be ok. There is quite a lot of commoners though OP so don't feel overwhelmed.

and have been known to give my children tesco value chicken slices out of a packet with a roast instead of a actuall chicken.

I have a 2.6year old who can't talk yet. We live in a rented terraced house in a dodgy area. Most of my clothes come from Primark and the ones that don't come from Peacocks, New Look or Ebay. I didn't get my degree because I farted about for three years changing courses. I don't like wine.

Overwhelmed lol, everything about me is non-mumsnetable lol.... It's worse that I originally thought!

If it makes you feel better I didn't get my degree cos I got pregnant, by a guy 12 years my senior (yeah..parents loved that) and I don't even begin to assume my uh is real leather lol...it's leather like. And we live in a flat, so we don't have a garden in which to grow out own veg...though the kids get more exercise when the lift breaks

My honest answer is if you feel the need to fit in, thats where the problem is. Not the fact you don't. Not fitting in, makes you unique and you should celebrate that and never ever feel the need to make excuses/apologise or otherwise pass comment on it.

I would rather not fit in a million times over than be like everyone else.
