Im sitting crying cause im sick of it. Pathetic.
Cbeebies is on for lo and oh started watching tele on his phone so my exact words are "if you play with lo you can change the channel" he throw his phone on the floor and started shouting dont tell me what to fucking do. why do you have to be involved i can do what i want. if i want to watch tv on my phone its nothing to do with you. i said i only said you can change the channel and he said its nothing to do with u and stormed off upstairs. leaving me with lo like i lool after her all day amd night myself.
Aibu to think no one else would react like this as he says everyone would.
Lo is 4months so when i say play if she gets upset give her toy back and shes fine and happy x

Why would a 4 month old baby need to watch any particular channel? Surely he could have watched his programme on the TV anyway

I don't really understand your post, but 4 months is way to you g to be watching tv, even cbeebies.

YANBU that was a totally ott response and far too aggressive. There's never any need to throw things about that just done to scare people. It's particularly inappropriate in front of a child -what if the phone had bounced and hit your DD?

I wouldn't go showing him this thread though, I doubt he'd take well to it.

I have no clue why you're putting a child of 4 months in front of the tv though that's far too young.

Firstly im a qualified childcare practioner my dd is not well so i let her watch waybuloo and theres nothing wrong with them watching tv aslong as its not for hours on end and close to the tv. there wouldnt be "baby tv" if there was a reason that it would be unsuitable for babies.
Im really upset and this post was about ny partners reaction.
He can be short tempered but over the most ridiculous things

I can see why you are upset but I would disagree that, "There wouldn't be baby tv if there was a reason that it would be suitable for babies". There are lots of things out there sold for babies and children that are unsuitable, particularly at 4 months. Please turn off the tv and don't use it as a childminder. As for your OH, he deserves to be put in front of shit children's telly as a punishment for his behaviour. He is an arse.

tv at that age is pretty colours and lights... nothing wrong with a bit of tv now and then.

Roseformeplease i believe that was a comment that did not need to be made. i take dd to baby groups, to see friends with babies, do activities with her all day everyday. i shouldnt feel i have to justify being a good parent because i am!!!!!!!!

Yes sorry he does. he isnt violent at all or anything but he is constantly stroppy.

you might as well put anything on, its not like they can understand that its a kids channel, or anything thats going on.

Kids channels have bright colours and bright colours are good for sensory development.

And actually, all the research suggests that tv is rather bad for babies development, actually.

I don't know why you're getting grief over lo seeing tv - most folk have tv on in the background so cbeebies is nice and gentle compared to adult tv. But any tv on in the background shouldn't be an issue.
As you say it's not like she's shoved in front of tv.

Anyway i am a childcare practioner and teach the EYFS if you dont know what that is feel free to look it up.

Recommendation is NO TV before the age of two.

And rubbish that 'it wouldn't exist if it was unsuitable for babies - junk food exists even though it does not constitute a good diet!
