Just want someone to hold my hand. Sat in hospital awaiting blood results of my newborn,,, suspected sepsis. Feel very alone right now.

Tight hand squeeze. DD2 had poss strep B, lumbar puncture, antibiotics through a shunt in the head. I struggle to remember the details as she's a gorgeous 14 yo now.

Crossandratty · 19/10/2012 07:23

Sorry for lack of posts, trying to sleep whenever I can as reached my limit last night with no sleep and for DDs sake needed to get some sleep and pull myself together. She's wanting to feed more which is a great sign. Stopped pooing tho so suppositories administered. The broad spec antibios are helping and she's more alert now, and awake.... Which is amazing. She didn't wake up for 36 hours straight tues/wed. Terrifying. Still waiting for tests results of all descriptions, we know she has 2 infections - just need to get exact antibios now. Thanks for all the support. I really thought something terrible would happen she was fading so fast.

So glad to hear feeding has improved! Hope she continues to get better xx

Sirzy · 19/10/2012 07:28

Sleep whenever you can, don't apologise for not posting sleep in more important. When DS was in HDU I was sent home by a nurse to sleep before I reached complete breaking point. Sleep is good!

Natnat29 · 19/10/2012 07:31

Fingers crossed, she continues to improve quickly. Smile

eurowitch · 19/10/2012 07:34

She probably stopped pooing just because there's nothing in her if she hasn't been feeding.

LST · 19/10/2012 07:35

So glad she's feeling better op x
