Just want someone to hold my hand. Sat in hospital awaiting blood results of my newborn,,, suspected sepsis. Feel very alone right now.

Hope the results were good, DS2,had sepsis at 5 weeks, they started him on a/b before the results came back. He is fine now aged 2 but it was very scary at the time Sad

He had very few symptoms, I just felt that he wasn't himself.

I have been in your shoes. I remember how frightened I was.

Make sure you chase them - in our case, the results came back and were put in DD's file, but the nurse didn't page the doctor. Thankfully, I kicked up a fuss and made them call him out - I kind of knew that RSV in a prem was bad news.

DD was very ill, but in hindsight, we were in the best place for her and she made a full recovery.
