To think this bus driver was 100% in the right?

A female passenger abuses the driver (swearing and racist abuse) and then hits him, he then hits her back, is he really in the wrong for doing this?

I think it's because they've deemed it to be suitable for adults only because of the language and violence.

Apparently the driver has been suspended. I hope he doesn't lose his job.

Yes he is absolutely in the wrong, that wasn't self defence that was him getting angry and then punching her full force in the face, it was sickening, as was her attack on him. As others have said 2 wrongs don't make a right.

I hope he does lose his job.

YABVU. She was out of order but he was being just as verbally abusive as she was and he was not defending himself by hitting her. She was standing back, not continuing to hit him and he thumped her. Can't believe anyone thinks it was ok.

I agree with some of what you've said Horrace, I don't think you should hit someone thinking you're OK doing it because they won't hit back.

IMO it's not about male hitting female, it's about him being a professional, her being the customer. You don't assault your customers!

I'm back because I really found that video upsetting. He hit her back to 'teach her a lesson', he didn't hold back at all and continued to attack her after the first punch. He seriously assaulted her and obviously had no qualms about doing it. I would be very surprised if he wasn't violent in his every day life.

His reaction was disproportionate. I also don't agree that it was necessarily racist abuse since she was black herself and some groups of black Americans use the N word to each other in a non derogatory way.

I agree Queen. That punch was way OTT. He was very lucky he didn't cause her permanent harm, or worse.

YABU. For one thing he is at work, in a professional position. He can't go go round hitting passengers no matter what the provocation! He will likely lose his PSV licence over this!.

Hmmm, I'm of the school of thought that you don't start throwing punches if you're not prepared to take one back. I think there are some women in the world that mete out punches at blokes because they think their vagina will act like a forcefield to prevent them getting a whack back.
