Ewa Michalak? Great isn't it? I've got one of the CH (half cup) bras. It is extremely uplifting and whilst it does make me feel very busty, it gives a great shape!

YerMaw1989 · 09/10/2012 12:44

I was a 36D by the time I was 14.

I started developing at 8 though.

yeah I'd have thought coz isn't the average cup size a C? that models would be like at least a a C?

I got the double pack for her, but they don't do 2 white bras which is a PITA. One white/black or one whie/beige.Not suitable for school under school shirts.

alemci · 09/10/2012 12:49

would have thought the beige one would be fine under white.

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 12:53

Yep, I always buy nude/beige to wear under white blouses. White underwear tends to show through beneath white or light coloured tops. Apparently (although I haven't tried it), you can wear a red bra under a white t-shirt and it doesn't show.

I think many people consider C to be about average but if everyone was properly fitted then I suspect it would be much more like an E or an F!

CheddarandMarmite · 09/10/2012 12:56

Thanks Sorrel, I think you are right about plunge styles not being for me, turns out the two that don't fit at all are plunge and the two that fit Ok-ish are balcony ones.

But the plunge ones are such pretty colours

toboldlygo · 09/10/2012 13:24

A D cup really isn't very big if it's on a small back size. I wear a 30E (used to wear 34C with bizarre saggy four-boob effect) and do not have big norks. You'd laugh out loud if I told you my size in person because they're really quite modest.

I have no trouble finding E cups but they usually start at a 32 or 34 back - supermarkets, Primark etc. are buggers for this, you can't get cheap everyday bras in small back sizes because every other woman is wearing the wrong size and they think 34-38 are the most common sizes. Possibly they are but as a dress size 10-12 there are lots of women smaller than me who must be a 26 or 28 back, how they buy bras I do not know.

Just flipped through an Avon catalogue to find that they do their bras in a 38B but nothing below a 34 back. Surely 38B is the more unusual size? That would be the equivalent of a woman who is perhaps a dress size 18 but with only two inches difference between underbust and overbust.

Binkyridesagain · 09/10/2012 13:26

Thank you thank you and once again thank you. For the first time in so long I can't remember, I am wearing a bra that I don't want to take off.
I've been to Asda, easiest and quickest place. I tried on a couple of 36G back size perfect (I didn't realise my back was that small) but the cup wasn't big enough but Asda don't do larger cups, so I tried 38G, it fits, I've not been nipped or stabbed. My breasts are at the front if my body and not hiding under my armpits and they are in the cups and staying in there even when I bend forward.
I am comfy and happy!

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 13:28

toboldlygo yy. Nearly all the young (teens/20s) girls I know are wearing the wrong bra size. It's very depressing. I try and advise them when they complain about not feeling comfortable or looking right and they are like Hmm

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 13:29

Binkyridesagain Good to hear! Don't be surprised however to find that you'll soon want to go down/up to a 36GG Smile once you get used the tighter band.

Binkyridesagain · 09/10/2012 13:31

I can't wait Grin smaller back, bigger boobs what's not to like

toboldlygo · 09/10/2012 13:36

Yes Sorrel, thinking back my first bras as a teen were 34B and 34C - they must have been very poorly fitting indeed as I was a skinny streak of nothing aged 13-18. Then it all went wrong (Grin) but I'm still only a 30 back two dress sizes later.

I have subtly tried to advise friends and family, most of whom claim C cups but are hugely bigger of nork than I. I actually get an urge to tap people on the shoulder in the street when I see that their bra obviously does not fit. Blush Not that I ever would but it makes me itch.

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 13:46

I am dreadful for spotting badly fitting bras when out and about. The temptation to interfere is very strong. So far, though, I have resisted apart from the size 8/10 girl in the Debenhams fitting room queue who was waiting to try on a load of 36A bras

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 13:47

I'm not subtle at all with family and friends Grin. My biggest triumph this summer was getting my niece, stepdaughter and stepson's gf into the correct bra sizes in one epic afternoon!

FiercePanda · 09/10/2012 13:48

I'm a J cup and too skint for Bravissimo, so am stuck with Triumph Doreens. Grim. Sad

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/10/2012 13:54

Fierce try brastop or the leia outlet sections, they have some lovely things up to a j and beyond in non bravissimo prices.

PropositionJoe · 09/10/2012 13:59

Ok ok, you're going to tell me I'm wearing the wrong size too. If I'm 31inch under bust and 32.5 around then what - 32A but not in Marks and Spencers? I'm wearing 36AA from there and I think it fits - snug around the chest and supportive cups but plain and boring as that's all I can get

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 14:03

I'd probably start you in a 30B or C or maybe a 32A or B.

Honestly, a 36 is very very big for your under bust measurement.

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/10/2012 14:07

I have the same underbust and wear a 30, so either a 30 or at most a 32 back. If a 30, then a b or c, and a 32 between an a and b. M and s are truly useless in most cases.

GockandJuice · 09/10/2012 14:10

I wear 32gs from M&S but I'm now thinking am i in the wrong size? I measure only 27 inches just under my boobs

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 14:11

Yes, you probably need a 28 or maybe even a 26!

HauntedLittleLunatic · 09/10/2012 14:12

Oops another thread about bras turns into a fitting service run by statistically challenged and sorrelforbes.

Tis really good for womankind...hopefully the op doesn't mind being hijacked :)

SorrelForbes · 09/10/2012 14:13

Eek Blush. I need to restrain myself.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 09/10/2012 14:15
