Thread deletion.

I'm a bit Confused and Hmm that a thread has been deleted seemingly because my reply (the only one) wasn't intelligent enough! In the past i've requested one of my threads to be deleted but was told no as there was no good enough reason.

No doubt this will be deleted too as it's a thread about a (now non-existent) thread.

Hello

Am sure we didn't delete the thread because your post was not intelligent enough, fluffyraggies or all many of my pre-MNHQ posts would have been toast long ago

Afraid I wasn't on duty this morning but, if the OP itself contained a link, it's possible that it was spam or maybe a poster who's rather, ahem, over-enthusiastic about starting threads linking to the same site all the time...

If you can remember the OP's name, do mail contactus at mumsnet.com and we'll see if we can work out what happened.

Wow. Less than 5 minutes from Proud's flounce to HQ to their appearance.

Respect, Proud. Deep, deep respect.

Feeling guilty, Mydogsleepsonthebed? Eh, eh?

fluffyraggies · 22/09/2012 19:18

I so wish i could be on this thread more, but am being called on every 10 mins by family tonight!! Any other night and i'm sat here for ages being largely ignored by them Hmm Grin

Right - i'll let MNHQ know the OPs name.

And - AF - you are quite my favorite MNer as you were very luffley to me many moons ago under my old name

And therefore you're covered too Grin

Seriously thanks people for backing me up on this one.

Nothing to see here Helen, move along move along

Not really, but I'm as mystefied (sp?) as Fluffy because honestly the thread that was deleted was nothing out of the ordinary.

Tee2072 · 22/09/2012 19:21

Did Helen just admit she was a MNetter before she was hired?!?!

A clue!!!

::starts advance searching ferociously::

(Not really. Doctor Who is on soon.)

@Mydogsleepsonthebed

i just meant because it's a thread about a thread. Which I thought was bad form. Blush

Oh, I see.

Actually, it might be a good time to clarify that one

A thread about a thread is indeed bad form, if - and this is the important bit - it's been started to mock/insult/badmouth/trollhunt/blow raspberries at another thread/posters on another thread. Or if it's been started purely to rake over the juicier details of a deleted thread.

Perfectly OK, though, (generally), to start a thread connected to another thread - a continuation thread, for example, or a thread inspired by another thread.

Or, as in this case, to ask MNHQ why a thread was deleted. Although we may then still delete if it turns into a rake over the juicier details, as above.

Clear as mud, eh?

Will I be forever known as the silly bitch who electrocuted herself in the fanjo? Is that going to follow me all over mumsnet forever?

Tweasels · 22/09/2012 19:40

No. Sorry Blush.

Mydogsleepsonthebed · 22/09/2012 19:41

Grin you fibber.

It's ok - I don't mind or I wouldn't have over shared it in the first place.
