to think we should have a 'dull' section on MN?

Just seems like there's always something you need or would like to know but it's so incredibly boring you'd be ashamed to put in chat or any other section.

At least if it was seen as a given that everything in that section was boring, people wouldn't feel embarrassed about asking dull questions. I know there's pedant's corner but that seems more geared to discussions about how highly educated the pedantic posters are and how thick everyone else is. Just a thought. I'd love to see a place on the forum where everyone can be their most boring selves with impunity.

OP posts:

I posted a question in Housekeeping a little while ago about how to avoid my tummble dried underwear coming out smelling like hot biscuits. I only got a couple of replies and I think it's because it was just such a fucking boring question, even for Housekeeping.

I second your motion OP.

FeakAndWeeble · 03/08/2012 12:30

And I would still like to know how to get my tumble dried pants to smell lovely, if anyone knows Grin

rainydaysarebad · 03/08/2012 12:33

Doesn't the smell of your washing powder stay in your clothes once they've been tumble dried? I'm using Bold right now and our clothes smell great even after coming out the tumble drier.

WorraLiberty · 03/08/2012 12:33

Nope

But we do need a 'Stop asking for more fucking sections' section....

MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 03/08/2012 12:35

Oh good idea. That would save people putting dull stuff in AIBU.

I noticed there was a thread about where you can buy marshmallows earlier in Chat. With about 3 replies saying at the supermarket.

With all due respect to the marshmallow OP, is that the sort of thing you mean?

FeakAndWeeble · 03/08/2012 12:36

No Sad it just eradicates all the lovely fabric conditioner smell. I'm allergic to Bold but we use Lenor and it smells lovely... Unless we tumble dry.

OP perhaps a whole section devoted to stuff as boring as this would in just be thoroughly depressing...

firawla · 03/08/2012 12:38

I like this idea OP.

feak erm i tumble dry everything and never had this hot biscuit smell problems?! are you drying it for too long maybe, or maybe clean the machine out and see if it makes any difference

MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 03/08/2012 12:39

I suppose unanswered messages fulfills this function somewhat.

Worra I can't see how someone who never strays out of AIBU can complain about the number of sections on MN. Wink

IslaValargeone · 03/08/2012 12:40

Too hot and too long for your drying cycle feak, I think?

squoosh · 03/08/2012 12:40

Whenever I'm in the doctors room I LOVE reading That's Life or Take a Break or any of those 'Murdered by a loofah' type mage. They always have a page full of household tips.

'Don't throw out your old laddered tights, they can be used to . . . . . '

laudinum · 03/08/2012 12:40

I know the smell you mean but it vanishes once the pants cool down. Either that or we both suffer 'Digestive Biscuit Bum' syndrome.

Underwear will smell good if you keep it in a drawer with a bar of soap or incense sticks.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/08/2012 12:40

What about a repitition corner for all the:

P&C spaces
Blue Badge Spaces
Hogging Table Threads
Dog Owners not cleaning up their dogs turds threads
Children of opposite gender in toilet threads

and all the ones that you think "Thats a Yes/That's a No" but everyone has a completely opposite view to what you'd think....

MarygoeZforgold · 03/08/2012 12:48

It could just be a section where boring threads are moved as a punishment for being, well, boring.

Someone would have to be in charge though

Or [excited], what about an automatic system, where instead of a "like" button we had a "boring" button. If enough people (say 50 maybe) clicked the boring, the thread would go whoosh into the boring section.

IslaValargeone · 03/08/2012 12:50

Arf at 'digestive bum syndrome'

WorraLiberty · 03/08/2012 13:00

Worra I can't see how someone who never strays out of AIBU can complain about the number of sections on MN. Wink

Me neither

But then again, I can't seen anyone on this thread who never strays out of AIBU

FeakAndWeeble · 03/08/2012 13:07

'Digestive Bum' syndrome Grin

I think this must be the trouble!

I can't change the lenght of the cycle on my machine and I've only had it for a couple of months so I don't think it's gotten too smelly yet. The old one did the same thing.

It's all very upsetting...

Icelollycraving · 03/08/2012 13:13

Ooh I like the boring button idea! Imagine the bunfights :o

Proudnscary · 03/08/2012 13:40

What about a Bunfight section with a 'you're a cunt' vagina smiley?

MardySkimpyBeachVolleyballBra · 03/08/2012 13:42

"I can't seen anyone on this thread who never strays out of AIBU"

Not me - I'm an Active Convos person.

Trills · 03/08/2012 13:43

we do need a 'Stop asking for more fucking sections' section....

I agree with Worra :o

EverSoSlightlyConfused · 03/08/2012 13:49

Think it's a good idea op,

and also like being able to vote off threads in to obscurity, that section should be called room 101

IslaValargeone · 03/08/2012 13:50

With the 'I miss insert name of fave 'oldie' having automatic entry.

flyoverthehill · 03/08/2012 13:58

mardy ? really where do you buy marshmallows ? no, you must have made that up (gosh, now wondering is a waitrose marshmallow as tasty as a sainsbury's one) is that the kinda crap you mean, this should go in room 101

BertieBotts · 03/08/2012 13:59

Are you mad? Hot biscuits sounds like an amazing smell!

flyoverthehill · 03/08/2012 14:00

oh and I really, really was going to tidy up this afternoon and not spend my time here, and cook a really good dinner !
