To Support Tsonga, NOT Andy Murray?

I really don't like watching Murray play. That, and he appears to be a miserable bastard.

Tsonga, on the other hand, seems lovely. He plays well and is really nice in interviews.

My conclusion: I will be rooting for Tsonga in the semis of Wimbledon unless guilted into supporting Murray Grin

He's Scottish, we're all door. Not quite sure why some English people feel the need to plaster an inane grin on their faces all the time.

Tsonga is a hotty though.

NovackNGood · 05/07/2012 16:45

Why would you not want the greatest British tennis player in 70 odd years to not reach the final and possibly win Wimbledon? I've waited decades to see that and now is the best time since Virginia Wade.

limitedperiodonly · 05/07/2012 16:45

I heard Tsonga punches kittens to psyche himself up. His mum taught him to do it. Allegedly.

Petsinmypudenda · 05/07/2012 16:46

Didn't we have this thread yesterday?

frillylemons · 05/07/2012 16:49

When Murray wins he is British, when he loses....he's Scottish. Or so I'm told!

Fecklessdizzy · 05/07/2012 16:50

So the Murrster is a grumpy git ... I'd still rather like to see him win it!

JosephineCD · 05/07/2012 16:54

74 years since a British player even reached the mens final, let alone won it. Anyone who isn't cheering Murray with every fibre of their being is a traitorous idiot, quite frankly.

Oogaballoo · 05/07/2012 16:54

He posed naked for Cosmpolitan magazine once. Just putting that out there in case anyone is interested in such things. Not me, obviously.

I never understand why people are so obsessed with Murray's personality!!

His job is to play tennis, which he happens to be quite good at. He comes across to me as honest - if he loses because he played crap he'll say so rather than sugar coating it. And he seems private. Nowt wrong with that either.

Every inch of me will be rooting for him!

mynameis · 05/07/2012 17:02

Oogaballoo is that Tsonga posed naked?

Sparklingbrook · 05/07/2012 17:03

I like my sportsmen with a bit of charisma and a sense of humour. I haven't seen Murray display either.

If he wins, actually smiles, runs round the court whooping with joy, and jumps over the net in delight I will change my mind.

That's a sportsman with charisma Maryz. Wink

squoosh · 05/07/2012 17:07

I don't like Murray because he's dull in the same way I never liked the all conquering Pete Sampras, also deadly dull.

I like Tsonga.

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/07/2012 17:08

Oh er Missus.

OP I do not have a traitorous (is that a word?) bone in my body but I totally agree.

Yama · 05/07/2012 17:10

'My favourite part of my body is my buttocks.' Tsonga. Well said that man.

Sparklingbrook · 05/07/2012 17:11

Tim Henman was dull, Nigel Mansell was dull, David Beckham is zzzz and who was that snooker player? Steve 'interesting' Davis was it? We do seem to historically have a few sports stars with no charisma.

limitedperiodonly · 05/07/2012 17:11

I think my favourite part of Tsonga's body is his buttocks too but I'm going to take a closer look tomorrow before I commit myself.

choccyp1g · 05/07/2012 17:12

I'm supporting Tsonga on account of his sexy French accent putting £5 on him to win at 25-1.

Oddly, I find Murray quite sexy, I like that gawky look and like his accent as well (but not as much as aforementioned hunk)

Yama · 05/07/2012 17:15

Limited - click on Maryz's link. Prepare to swoon though.

sugarice · 05/07/2012 17:16

Tsonga is a hottie and I love hearing him speak, Go Jo-Wilfried Wink

limitedperiodonly · 05/07/2012 17:17

we had Stan Bowles sparkling. I'm thrilled yet amazed to see he's still alive.

scrablet · 05/07/2012 17:22

Aah, ok, be Murray haterz but at least wait till after Wimbledon? Don't you think he's doing his best, surely he does not have to be comedian seed No4 too?

limitedperiodonly · 05/07/2012 17:25

My, Tsonga don't you have big feet.
