YANBU.

BupcakesandCunting · 20/06/2012 12:58

BTW, all of this running around trying to evade arrest is making you look even more guilty, Julian.

oi bups - have you seen the thread in chat about your name?

glenthebattleostrich · 20/06/2012 13:38

YADNBU

If he is innocent then surely he wants to clear his name instead of hiding and complaining he might possibly one day be extradited to the US. And surely it would be easier to have him extradited from here since Dave seems to be Obama's bitch?

BupcakesandCunting · 20/06/2012 14:00

The t-shirt thread?!

EldritchCleavage · 20/06/2012 14:42

He has got a terminal case of limlight addiction. We were on the cusp of forgetting about him and he couldn't stand it.

MarysBeard · 20/06/2012 14:43

YY, totally, Eldritch! You have hit the nail squarely on the head there.

OP posts:
GooseRocks · 20/06/2012 14:47

Just reading his wiki page. Interesting character. Fact remains accusations have made by two women. Get thee back to Sweden and face the music.

EldritchCleavage · 20/06/2012 14:47

Limelight addiction, obviously!

Nonce* AND coward= bad combination.

gnushoes · 20/06/2012 17:17

And the Swedish police only want to question him. Messiah complex. YANBU.

I don't think the us really need to worry about prosecuting him as he has made himself look foolish

Remember when the biography came out and he tried to prevent it being published? So much for everyone's secrets being out in the open!

donnie · 20/06/2012 19:03

couldn't agree more. He is a coward, IMO.

JuliaScurr · 20/06/2012 19:12

the smearing of his accusers was on one person's word - Israel Shamir. The rest was added by lefty boyz people who can't believe Assange can be good on civil liberties and bad on sexual violence

SlipperyNipple · 20/06/2012 20:43

I think he should face the music in Sweden but I don't think he will get a fair trial in the USA. I understand why he wants to avoid that.

Prolesworth · 20/06/2012 20:46

YANBU

Whatmeworry · 20/06/2012 20:47

What sallyingforth said. This is not about sex, and not about Sweden..

BlackOutTheSun · 20/06/2012 21:01

He should just fuck off!

EldritchCleavage · 20/06/2012 23:25

I just don't understand the claim that he is more likely to get extradited to the US from Sweden than here. I would have thought Assange was at least as likely to face a US extradition request from here.
I wonder if the US really do want Assange? He was the recipient of information, and probably not a mere passive recipient. But pour encourager les autres the key thing for the US is prosecuting the insider who disclosed the material to Assange. And they believe they have that person on trial already -Bradley Manning.

izzyizin · 21/06/2012 00:38

It's shaping up to be an interesting Mexican Ecuadoran stand-off.

It seems the police intend to arrest Jules if he steps outside of the embassy. Is he going to spend the remainder of his life inside the building? What will happen if he makes a run attempts to depart the UK for Ecuador?

If Mr A makes it to Ecuador, I don't fancy his chances of not being extradited to the US in exchange for US aide.

piprabbit · 21/06/2012 00:46

I bet the Ecuador is thrilled to have JA as a potentially long term house guest Hmm. Do you think he arrived with his own sleeping bag so he could kip down in a corner, or did he demand a room?

izzyizin · 21/06/2012 00:56

While he's a guest of Ecuador and holed up staying in that country's embassy in Knightsbridge, he's regarded as being on foreign soil hence Ken, Jemima & co may lose their deposits sureties.

What jolly times we live in. Can't wait for the next issue of Private Eye Grin
