Where has it gone? Just as I was about to start sprucing it up for the jubilee and start tatting the bunting?

I think she took her bloomers off some time ago. She'll be getting chills to her nether regions for sure but I suppose it's better than the alternative

Minimammoth · 26/11/2012 20:12

I am sewn into my liberty bodice, now, 'till May, and sporting the red flannel dissibles.

OP posts:
sybilvimes · 26/11/2012 20:18

Being sewn into the bodice is not so bad, Mistress Mimi, its the distressing smell from the goose fat preservative that Madame Hully applied which is particularly worrying. The vicar fainted when I walked past him yesterday.

Bessy the scullery maid says it has cleared her sinus' right up though.

sybilvimes · 26/11/2012 20:20

Mistress Mini, sorry,

Minimammoth · 26/11/2012 21:02

Don't go near any naked flames.

Minimammoth · 27/11/2012 17:19

Ooo. You is physic Mimi. We are going to do some fine tatting with those cobwebs

Ow ow ow ow ow demn holly.

Come along, gels, there is decking to be done and stirrup cup to be brewed! The season is nearly upon us. Have we decided on a theme for the Christmas Ball? tut tut tut

ICBINEG · 28/11/2012 10:18

well I bought my ball gown so there had better damn well be a ball...

I am nearly done with the lace on my hat also...

Jins · 28/11/2012 10:36

I had booked a celebrity DJ but I'm a bit concerned that he might not be the right one. He hasn't been arrested for groping anyone as far as I know and I think we could probably get DLT a bit cheaper.

Theme? Nothing to traditional I think. Everyone has copied us in recent years and I think we need to push the boundaries.

Shall we have a bucking reindeer? It looks like enormous fun

HullyEastergully · 28/11/2012 10:37

You have bought your gown?

Without knowing the theme?

Is that not a little ill-judged?

I wondered about a Nymphs and Shepherd theme, so rustic and artistic and yet modest and becoming. We could get some little lambkins to prance merrily, perhaps we could dye them red and green?

HullyEastergully · 28/11/2012 10:39

That reindeer alarms me...how would one keep one's dignity astride an unpredictable mammal more used to galloping the night skies than staning ina red and yellow bowl?

Jins · 28/11/2012 10:56

I would expect that they have a version with a side saddle for the more refined parties.

Nymphs and shepherds is a good plan. Shepherds being so traditional and nymphs being so..nymphy Confused

HullyEastergully · 28/11/2012 15:41

A side saddle at the very least, and possibly a nice screen so that one may be bucked all unobserved.

HullyEastergully · 28/11/2012 15:43

I have [http://www.yourfantasycostume.com/sites/yourfantasycostume.com/files/images/waternymph.jpg this]] dress, tis a water nymph and I rather fancied a gentleman might accompany me holding a large bucket of water for my pool.

HullyEastergully · 28/11/2012 15:44

Drat and piffle.

this

Minimammoth · 28/11/2012 17:22

Is not groping on the core curriculum for DJing, surely 'tis a basic skill/ competence.
Deary me, that outfit looks most unsuitable for winter and would not go over my liberty bodice and red flannels, < eyes up Jins fleecy combs>

OP posts:
Jins · 28/11/2012 17:29

I've been searching through my patterns and the only thing remotely nymphy is this

It shouldn't take long to tat and Lord knows it won't need a lot of yarn

Umami · 28/11/2012 20:28

If we're going water-nymphy, I can't help thinking that matching costumes might not be the way to go, if we want a shock-and-awe effect on the Regiment?

HullyEastergully · 28/11/2012 22:45

What is that odd scarlet thing that woman bears? Is is entirely of a piece?

Minimammoth · 29/11/2012 02:22

Surely that's willy warmer, Jins

OP posts:
Jins · 29/11/2012 09:38

I like the matching costumes. Bagsy I get to carry a red thing

HullyEastergully · 29/11/2012 12:15

I don't think red is AT ALL ladylike or suitable. Perhaps a hint of blush pink at most.
