Where has it gone? Just as I was about to start sprucing it up for the jubilee and start tatting the bunting?

Just thought I'd sweep up a few leaves, I like a bit of a rustle in the leaves. Hums to self.

Crumpets anyone? My letters are written, I have made a note of how many swallows have flown, tatted a new hot water bottle and await delivery of fur lined petticoats for winter.

Jins · 10/10/2012 11:12

No crumpets for me. I appear to have become rather matronly of midriff

Fiderer · 10/10/2012 12:56

Ahh, crumpets with dripping butter by the fireplace after a bracing walk through the grounds

Alas this wing of the Hall has no crumpets but a fine raisin bread which can be toasted and slathered with butter is an acceptable substitute

Miss Jins. Do let us help, just brace yourself on the mantle and with my foot in your back I'll tighten your stays. Just breath in.

OP posts:
Minimammoth · 10/10/2012 18:03

My turn now. Bring in the winch, harness the horses. And butter that crumpet.

OP posts:
Jins · 10/10/2012 18:10

I think I may replace my ribbons with wire. My stays are fit to burst.

Worth it for the crumpets though

Minimammoth · 11/10/2012 08:29

Jins, I think I need scaffolding.

What we need is more dancing. Most efficacious for toning the midriff. An autumn Ball will brighten us all up. Now that we done in the orchard and vineyard I feel it is high time for us to harvest some ripe gentlemen.

Hullygully · 11/10/2012 16:04

crumpets

yes

yum

MissHuffy · 11/10/2012 16:08

Crumpets and cider? Divine...

'Tis Belle.

Minimammoth · 11/10/2012 21:17

Dearest Belle pull up a chaise and rest your feet we'll set you up with a relaxing tisane. Do tell your news. Miss Fiderer is planning an Autumn ball. We may have to invite our Transylvanian friends.

Fiderer · 12/10/2012 08:15

Good news, Ladies, the regiment is back. Some of their equipment may be in need of a good oiling, I am certain we can be of aid.

Belle, why the Huff? Perhaps some of Mini and my new fermented apple tisane with soothe the gruff rough off your huff.

Fiderer · 12/10/2012 08:17

will soothe.

Hullygully · 12/10/2012 10:10

What ails thee dear MissBelle?

I have been a little huffy, but a tonic from dear Dr Vine has helped enormously.

Minimammoth · 12/10/2012 12:25

Huffy puffy chuffy and scruffy might describe my plight of late. I am in need of a new gown. I think we should invest in a bath house a la Harrogate, and then we can run through the woods, 'twill be most efficacious for the complexion.

sybilvimes · 12/10/2012 12:35

Gracious, the regiment's new captain has a very big gun! ( fans self)

An autumn ball sounds just the thing to bring a spring to our steps as the nights draw closer, if you require any help in the distillery herb drying shed to prepare Miss Fids just let me know. I shall have more time on my hands now that the pirates have returned to sunnier climes for the winter.

MissHuffy · 12/10/2012 13:41

Ah, the regiment may be just the thing to cure my ailing spirits...

MissHuffy · 12/10/2012 13:42

And a large cannon is always a treat.

Minimammoth · 12/10/2012 13:55

Miss Sybil, for sooth, you should receive a medal for your charitable works with the pirates. Their parrots are no doubt reciting tracts from the bible, and their dubloons shining.
We should invent some exciting medicinal cocktails for the ball. A large cannon is a good starting place. Up against the wall, on the beach.

OP posts:
Fiderer · 12/10/2012 14:53

Splendid notion, Miss Mini.

Here a few ideas for our cocktails, inspired by our good deeds with pirates and regiment alike.

"Hard Rifle Against The Shoulder"
"Oiled Cannon Held Fast"
"Aft Deck After Dark"
"All Sails A'Hoist"

Minimammoth · 12/10/2012 15:43

"Lace up yer stays"
In honour of cook....a "Bunion on the Rocks"
"Rochester's Leg" shaken not stirred.
