Where has it gone? Just as I was about to start sprucing it up for the jubilee and start tatting the bunting?

You're such a poet Umami.
Wither Trevor's weathered nethers. Never feathered ever.
You can tell we're bored. Wine
Minervois -thought it went with nethers.

Mini - what are you up to?
Check out my ToB thread in Sport, bring friends.

Minimammoth · 13/09/2012 07:50

And I though the Haha would keep us clear of invaders. Halfmum easily cleared it on her bike. Just as I was contemplating leather tethered nethers for Trevor.

Perhaps Mistress HalfMum could be indentured persuaded to deal with Trevor's leathery nethers?

Fiderer · 13/09/2012 10:08

If Trevor's nethers look anything like his uppers, she's most welcome to.

MadameDefarge · 13/09/2012 20:41

Oh dear. my sapphire velvet riding habit has become sadly shabby.

Minimammoth · 13/09/2012 22:52

Sapphire velvet, VELVET. There's a recession on don'cha know. Whilst in the land of Druids I was able to practice my spinning skills. can't find good linky think ..pathetic durr emoticon

I am sorely tempted by the velvet riding habits I have seen as we walk through town, eyeing up the Regiment taking exercise as ladies should. I wonder, though, whether they are any defence against the elements? I imagine they are not up to much should one get caught in a rainstorm. I should hate to catch a chill and have to seek warmth and succour at another Hall. Who knows where that might lead, and all for the love of a velvet coat.

Fiderer · 14/09/2012 07:46

Rough hessian would be no good should we chance upon shipwrecked orphans needing warmth and succour.

I suggest we keep the velvet riding habits but hire out the horses to offset any financial shortcomings. Horses disturb me, if I may be truthful. All hoof and tooth.

UmamiOrange · 14/09/2012 07:48

I concur. Then the Stable Boy will have more time for his other duties.

Jins · 14/09/2012 08:06

I thought the horses went long ago Blush

Hullygully · 14/09/2012 09:18

all the pretty horses

Hullygully · 14/09/2012 09:19
Fiderer · 14/09/2012 09:57

Yon Stable Boy could do with a flannel and some carbolic soap.

UmamiOrange · 14/09/2012 10:25

Tush, Mistress Fids, the poor lad has been hard at it all morning! Shall we not forgive him a little dirt here and there?

I'm sure Hully with have him in the bathhouse later, with all the dear, dirty orphans.

Fiderer · 14/09/2012 10:36

Did he get stuck in the ha-ha? Poor lad, I heard you'd set up a trap it can be tricky for visitors.

UmamiOrange · 14/09/2012 10:40

'Tis true, many a visitor has strayed into my web the ha ha, only to discover getting in was far easier than getting out....

Hullygully · 14/09/2012 10:48

The orphans look sorely ill-clad. We must divide ourselves into tatting parties and brisk rub down and exercise brigades. Selflessly, I volunteer for the latter.

Jins · 14/09/2012 10:53

I'll do the rub down but they look fairly well exercised already.

Why do we never find orphans in adequate clothing? It is such a drain on our supplies

UmamiOrange · 14/09/2012 15:59

Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh

I have an exam soon. I need to put knowledge in my brain. Why, then, am I listening to Kismet, pretending to be Lalume?

Fiderer · 15/09/2012 08:53

Ah the lovely Howard Keel.

What exam, Umami? If 'twere Shakespeare, you could brush him up.

UmamiOrange · 15/09/2012 10:13

Just declaim a few lines from Otheller, and she'll think you're a heck of a feller....

Am doing an MSc. Sadly, it's not Rodgers and Hammerstein Studies, or revision would be a lot more fun.

Fiderer · 15/09/2012 12:12
UmamiOrange · 16/09/2012 07:46

Thanks Mistress Fids, very perkifying.

It is a measure of how much I am revising that I have more threads in my 'Threads I'm On' than I have for a long, long time even though it's still only 13

Minimammoth · 17/09/2012 21:38

Umami dear, perhaps we can support your studies. do avail yourself of our fine library. 'Tis a chained library, so we can simply chain you in there until your brain is full. We can send the orphans in from time to time to feed you sweet meats. Otherwise I am sure we can find something to assist you in the science wing.
