Where has it gone? Just as I was about to start sprucing it up for the jubilee and start tatting the bunting?

Lawks!

I just stumbled across Ms Entropy at the boat shed, quite in flagrante delicto with Higgs the Bosun. I knew they were close, but.....

Minimammoth · 06/07/2012 22:46

Have we got a boat shed? Does that mean we have a boat? Can we tatt a map and some sails and go to somewhere warm and dry, I am in fear of dissolving.

OP posts:
Umami · 06/07/2012 23:06

It is only a modest boat shed and we have only a small dinghy with a red sail.

(I'm not sure how Rochester justifies continuing to employ Higgs. I think Ms Entropy may have Influenced him.)

Can I be Titty? Who'll be Susan and who'll be Cap'n Nancy?

Fiderer · 07/07/2012 08:14

Only one dinghy? Mmm, I shall get the Hall carpenter to fashion us a second one. Then I can be Cap'n Nancy (frets - she was a good egg? Memory foggy)

We need to bring bounteous supplies, tisanes and poultices and the travel still.

Excuse me now while I consult the carpenter. There are measurements and whittling matters to be discussed.

Jins · 07/07/2012 08:49

I'll be Susan then. I don't think I qualify for being Titty.

Umami · 07/07/2012 10:04

Ruth Nancy was definitely a Good Egg. As was Susan; she was a bit prissy, IIRC, but cooked all the pemmican.

sybilvimes · 10/07/2012 19:45

I definitely don't qualify as Titty.

If we are going sailing can I bring the Captain? I will need something substantial to take my mind off the undulating horizon, and he absolutely has something substantial! (attempts saucy wriggle but gives up as heart isn't in it)

I missed saying goodbye to Miss Entropy, the Hall feels a bit sad and lonely at present. I think we may need to take an encursion to lift our spirits.

Umami · 10/07/2012 20:04

Worry not, I can be Titty enough for all of us.

Captain Flint?? Not what I would've had down as your type Lady Syb, but whatever floats your (house)boat.

The Hall can be quite lonesome at times. One would have expected more balls; surely 'tis the height of The Season?

Site Stuff appears to be the place where all the most entertaining activity occurs at the moment. Truly, 'tis a Nest of Vipers? and no mistake.

Fiderer · 11/07/2012 08:16

An excursion is most definitely called for. Come, let us ponder the tatted maps and choose a destination. The carpenter has fashioned us a lovely dinghy and there must be plenty of islands within sailing distance.

A brisk sail, a fire on the beach and some rum possets will lift our spirits no end.

Hullygully · 11/07/2012 08:25

Oh how lovely! Let us excurse away from these torrid and turbulent traumas

Fiderer · 11/07/2012 08:57

Tsk, Hully, that way madness lies, or for me at least, complete bamboozle-dom and baffledom.

I have ruled out this as a destination and am rather drawn to this beauty. We may see dolphins and porpoises and the shimmering sea will soothe our souls after the torrid turbulent dramas.

Hullygully · 11/07/2012 09:09

Oh yes, Fids, let us hie ourselves thence. Are we taking the orphans?

Jins · 11/07/2012 09:20

I like the look of that.

Let's pick up some new orphans. I'm bored of these

Hullygully · 11/07/2012 09:31

bored WITH

we musn't let our grammar slip. Standards. Tut.

Yes, I think we have worn out these orphans, they look quite thin and haggard. Obviously come of poor stock, we need us some aristocratic orphans.

Fiderer · 11/07/2012 09:33

The current lot are a bit weary so they could perhaps mind the Hall and clean the parapets while we are away.

How quickly could we find some new orphans? I do not want to miss the tide.

Jins · 11/07/2012 09:49

Sorry ladies. My grammar has deteriorated considerably since my recent visits to twitter

I need re-educating

Fiderer · 11/07/2012 10:00

Fear not, Jins, any visit to The Witter is bound to unsettle the most hardy Gel.

Aristocratic orphans? He has a noble cast. As does he. See how he labours over a pamphlet.

Jins · 11/07/2012 10:07

I am enjoying the baby names thread as I can rant about my vile real name without actually telling anyone what it was

Thank goodness for deed poll

Hullygully · 11/07/2012 10:11

Was it Hypotenusa-Mae Jins?

Fiderer · 11/07/2012 10:13

Chlamydia-Dire?

Jins · 11/07/2012 10:13

You are both right

Jins · 11/07/2012 10:30

Anyway I must leave the search for orphas in your hands as I have to transport DS1 from one place to another.

I wish you well in your search but have faith in you all

Jins · 11/07/2012 10:31

and that would be orphans

I need a new keyboard or a pair of nail clippers

sybilvimes · 11/07/2012 11:00

This one is more nouveau riche than aristocratic, I fear he may have connections to trade, but he seems sturdy and has pretty eyes so I will bring him along anyway.

Will there be paddling? It looks quite warm so I trust we will be allowed to remove our corsets
