False eyelashes on the school run?

AIBU to think this is excessive? And when worn in conjunction with 4 inch heels, full fake tan, clothes suitable for a nightclub and hairpieces AIBU to think it's laughably over the top for the school run?

Said woman has told me she gets up at 5am every school day to get ready.

Wonder what she wears when she actually goes out clubing?

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 00:40

Very little! I've seen her out in the evenings! Think bandeau style cropped tops and micro skirts

Yeah it is but if she gets pleasure out of it then more power to her, she probably feels better than those rolling out of bed (even if she looks tarty) so I'd just leave her be.

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 00:40

And she's told me it takes her 8 hours to get ready for a night out.

scarletforya · 09/05/2012 00:40

Madness, wonder who she is doing it for? [Confused]

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2012 00:41

Good luck to her

It's not my thing personally but I do know a lot of women/mums who are really into make-up/hair/clothes etc.

Personally if I can fall out of bed and grab the nearest thing to me, drag a comb through my hair and wash my face...I'm on to a winner.

I tend to do my 'grooming' after 9am when the kids are safely in their classrooms on time Grin

scarletforya · 09/05/2012 00:42

Shock 8 hours for a night out?! What could possibly take 8 hours??

PorkyandBess · 09/05/2012 00:42

I would like to see her of a morning.. I'd be in awe.

She would die if she saw me - no make up and gym gear.

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2012 00:42

Possibly herself scarlet?

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 00:43

Don't get me wrong; I do my hair and make up too, and like to dress well, but this woman takes it to a whole new level IMO. I wouldn't say she looks that great either, I think she'd look better if she was a little more natural. She's like one of the people on Snog Marry Avoid

So what did she say when you told her all this?

Well obviously I haven't told her Worra, because she hasn't asked my opinion on how she should dress. If she asked, then I would say of course.

Does no one else ever see a woman that they think looks over done-up and would look better with less make up/fake tan?

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 09/05/2012 00:54

Yes constantly but I can honestly say I look...think 'oh dear' and that's it.

It's gone from my head as I couldn't give a shiny shite what other people are into doing with themselves.

I'm happy with the way I look grey roots and all so I wouldn't give it a second thought after I'd passed them in the playground.

You don't sound like you're laughing, Moredecai. You sound very irrationally angry actually.

Oh well Worra we are all different. I can't say I give a huge shite about how she dresses tbh, I just thought I'd start a relatively lighthearted thread about it. I'm happy with how I look too actually. Just because I think someone looks a bit overdone it doesn't mean I have huge ishoos about my own looks or anything.

I also think that if you care enough to post about it...you may be jealous. I hate bitchy posts about the way other women look. It's so bad...it's the reason many girls have such a miserable time at school...they learn from their Mums.

Moredecai isn't irrationally angry...I am angry too but with reason...as I said, women should not put one another down for looking a certain way. We have to contend with the media and the whole fucking world already who are only too pleased to keep us in our places with trite shit about looks.

Why not move on and stop feeding it. The world will be a LOT nicer for our daughters to grow up in;

Namechangeagogo · 09/05/2012 01:37

When I meet someone really heavily made up I always assume they have very low self esteem at the heart of themselves. Some people can look clownish, and I just really can't imagine what they see in the mirror. I think it looks kind of shocking.

No idea if that's the sort of person you mean though. Maybe she looks good.

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2012 01:43

I always assume heavily made up people are just 'into' make-up, fashion and hair far more than I am.

It's the same with people's houses

Mine (I suppose) is fairly nice and 'functional'...but my friend's house is like something from a magazine. She redecorates every single year and loves all the matching curtains, lamps, wall canvasses etc....

It's just her 'thing' if you know what I mean.

MordecaiAndTheRigbys · 09/05/2012 01:44

Not irrational actually very justified. Nothing light hearted about this thread you were just looking for people to join in your mocking of a woman whose only crime is to wear something you wouldn't.

Do you have kids op? Do you teach them that's its not about the outside but the inside? Or is it a case of a"everyone is beautiful in their own way,dc, not that woman over there though, she's a fucking mess. Lets laugh at her, and for good measure lets go on the internet and tell a bunch of strangers just to stress how ridiculous this woman looks" Is that the message op?
