To think you should only use 1 name on mumsnet?

Sweepitundertherug · 04/04/2012 15:17

Apparently we are not really allowed alters.
This name is an alter.
I normally use another name. That was a name change as well and I made that clear in the profile for that name.
I accidentally breached some t&cs on here.
I am allowed back, but only with this name.

So can you all tell me how many alters you all have and why you're all allowed to use them?!

I don't understand.

undercoverPrincess · 04/04/2012 15:19

I thought you were allowed to change names whenever you liked?

valiumredhead · 04/04/2012 15:19

I would if I could work out how to.

GoGoBananas · 04/04/2012 15:19

I have hundreds. Grin

I break no rules. That'll be the difference.

You're going to need to tell us what you did.

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 04/04/2012 15:19

Well, as your OP is as clear as mud, it's only fair that you tell us who you were and what you did.

Otherwise everyone will think you are Mitmoo! Grin

Tee2012 · 04/04/2012 15:20

Did you break T&C by sock puppeting? Trolling under one name? Some other infraction?

Because there are no limits to the number of name changes you can have, so long as you don't break the rules.

GoGoBananas · 04/04/2012 15:21

What. Did. You. Do?

valiumredhead · 04/04/2012 15:21

So it seems I know you OP.

AFuckingKnackeredWoman · 04/04/2012 15:21

Are you the poo troll?

tethersend · 04/04/2012 15:21

Which T&Cs did you accidentally breach?

IamtheZombie · 04/04/2012 15:22

As far as Zombie is aware, one only gets in trouble with MNHQ if one breaches the T&Cs by using the name change facility to sock puppet.

Zombie is an amateur name changer compared to some as she only has about a dozen NNs registered.

Sweepitundertherug · 04/04/2012 15:22

The rule break was completely accidental and innocent.
Nor was I warned that I would be banned.
Just pouf, I was banned from the site.
In my innocence, to throw the scent, I posted advise to myself. At the time it was entirely rational.

An accidental sock-puppet. It sounds like a film title..

GoGoBananas · 04/04/2012 15:24

Sock puppeting. Bad form. Talk to MNHQ.

Sweepitundertherug · 04/04/2012 15:24

Accidental sock puppet.

I am changing my name. Grin

mistlethrush · 04/04/2012 15:24

Was it the 'same thread' issue that was the problem Sweepit? I can completely understand why you might have wanted to post twice on the same thread without making it obvious to throw off the hounds - normally people only manage that when they've forgotten they started a thread with a new name and then changed.

Did MNTowers say that you can change it after the thread's you're currently on or not ever again?

NurseJennyLee · 04/04/2012 15:25

Are you the Hauck '3 years later' pushchair lady? Grin

Faverolles · 04/04/2012 15:26

I generally use this name, but if I want to post something more anonymously, I namechange.
I don't break rules though - no trolling, no sockpuppetry, no trollhunting well, not much, i dont have a whole alterego (which would be hard work and odd) so it's not an issue.

So you've broken some rules and you're only allowed one name? Have I got that right?

If posters want to namechange and they're not trolling, what's the problem?

Namechanging

ObiWan · 04/04/2012 15:26

What were you 'throwing the scent' about? And what did you advise yourself to do?

That pushchair one was hilarious Grin.

Tee2012 · 04/04/2012 15:26

Changing names to give yourself advice is indeed against T&Cs.

And I really don't see how it can be accidental. Unless you were very very very drunk.

DodieSmith · 04/04/2012 15:26

Why would you do that? Unless it's for obvious sock puppet reasons; I don't see how it can be innocent?

Sweepitundertherug · 04/04/2012 15:26

Yeah think it was the same thread thing.
But I can't have my usual name back.

But I have been resurrected in time for Easter. I am Jesus.

{joke}

This is bonkers conkers. Why on earth would you give your own self advice?
