Putting it here because you will all see it.
MNHQ can move it later if they want.

I have only gone and signed up for this
www.teenagecancertrust.org/get-involved/as-a-fundraiser/treks-and-challenges/bupa-10000/

If you all know I will have to do it.

Bloody nora.
I only made it to week 2 of that couch to 5k challenge Blush

Make me do it.
Shame me into training and stuff.
If the nest of vipers that is MN cant make me, nothing can.

I cant give blood this year because of bloody stupid frickin anemia (Im not now but you have to wait a year) so I thought I should do something.

I am now officially scared.

Ah good for you MrsDV Smile You can do it . I've promised myself that I will do something like this for Clic Sargeant next year when I am not pg.

Post your sponsorship page when you've set it up so I can't sponsor you.

SaffronDormouse · 17/03/2012 22:05

I used to do 5ks a few years back. On the morning of one I woke up and one of my legs didnt work properly. I did it on DD's crutches.
I have no idea why my leg didnt work, it was all very odd.

I did it though Smile
The next year I was pregnant and I waddled round.

I will have to run this one though innit?

That way I will have to do something.
I cant run everyday but I can at least do time on the static bike or a dvd.
I cant lie to MN.

BenderBendingRodriguez · 17/03/2012 22:31

I would love to sponsor you, MrsDV. Would you like a contingent of MNers to cheer you on, on the day?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/03/2012 22:31

MrsDV I'm sure you signed up for it with Billie in your mind.
That will be the catalyst that keeps you going when you are screaming with tiredness and can't put one blistered foot in front of the other.
(I'm selling this to you aren't I?)

Your daughter will spur you to the finish line !

nobutyeahbut · 17/03/2012 22:32

That's fantastic - good for you!

YellowDinosaur · 17/03/2012 22:41

Good on you! I will sponsor you too.

I did race for life last year - only 5k but given that it was over 20 years since I had done any running might as well have been to the moon. I did it for my friend who at 36 had been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer :(. I just felt that hard as I might find it, it wouldn't be a patch on what she had to face, and for that I had to do it. And run all the way. Which I am happy to say I did, despite no training and massive blisters. It was totally worth it.

You don't know me at all mrsdv, but I 'know' you here and know that you have an even more compelling reason to push you on. You will do it. I am certain x

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 17/03/2012 22:44

ooh well done mrsD I will also sponsor you... if you give me answers to this; Grin

as a slight tangent and hijack, whatever happened to the bungalow next door? The thread dropped off my list and I cant find it now...

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 17/03/2012 22:45

I would love people to cheer me on on the day!
Oh bugger I am going to have to do it now arent I?

Ok. I will go for a run tomorrow.

There I have said it now.

I did do it for Billie 70. She loved her room on the TCT unit. She was thrilled with it. They do such brilliant work for teenager and young adults with cancer. Cancer is horrible at any age. When you are a teenager and life is pretty hard already, the last thing you need it to be on a ward with babies or on a ward with old people.

No disrespect to babies or old people intended of course. Smile

The things some of those teenagers got up to when parents and nurses were not looking turned a blind eye would make your hair curl Smile

And cancer seems to be particularly brutal in teens. All those changes happening in their bodies Sad

I did the Marsden March recently and it was huge fun.

(OK, OK, that's only walking...)

I tell you what though - as the day approached, I got on with training for it. Grin

You'll LOVE it. Set your alarm for a practice run tomorrow. Grin

LoopyLoopsIsTentativelyBack · 17/03/2012 22:50

Hey hey MrsDV, how are you? I've missed you.

Sounds brilliant, I'm sure you will do it and I'll sponsor you for sure. :)

peggyblackett · 17/03/2012 22:54

I'll sponsor you Mrs DV.

Please can you post your Just Giving page here so I definitely see it?

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/03/2012 22:54

Yes post on here every day - tell us how you have progressed.

You can do it.

I will gladly sponsor you.

You do need a contingent of MNers to cheer you on, and welcome you at the end with a tin foil blanket, a mars bar and a great big flask of vodka cocktail. Grin
