Well, am I?

bibbityisaporker · 02/03/2012 16:25

Yanbu. I make my bed if my house is up for sale and people are viewing.

tethersend · 02/03/2012 16:25

No. I never bother either. Why make up a bed in a room which stays empty all day?

blushingcrow · 02/03/2012 16:26

I never make mine .

YANBU

WhereMyMilk · 02/03/2012 16:27

You load of scutters! :o

Make mine every day. Would hate getting into crumpled sheets. Just you wait till Get Orf sees this-she puts clean sheets on every day!

Lueji · 02/03/2012 16:28

No. Only, possibly, if you are home the entire day.

You should pull the sheets down, though, to let them breath.

HarlotOTara · 02/03/2012 16:29

Totally up tp you but I make mine as I find it very depressing looking at and getting into an unmade bed - chacun a son gout.

CailinDana · 02/03/2012 16:29

Sheets breathe??

HettyKett · 02/03/2012 16:30

YANBU, at least it's well aired.

IWBU if I didn't make mine, find getting into an un-straightened bed most depressing.

People who 'dress' their beds are BU, IMHO. But, I suppose it makes them happy.

WorraLiberty · 02/03/2012 16:30

DH makes ours

I can never be arsed

GiserableMitt · 02/03/2012 16:31

YANBU. I make the bed when DH is home otherwise I often don't bother. I'm only going to get back into it and mess it up again.

WhereMyMilk · 02/03/2012 16:31

You need to pull sheets back for an hour or so to cool the. Bed down and make it a little less hospital for bed bugs and other critters Shock

Seriously bad...

blushingcrow · 02/03/2012 16:32

I use fitted sheets , so no crumples

CailinDana · 02/03/2012 16:33

I'd keel over and die if DH dressed the bed. On sheet-changy day I strip the bed and leave it bare until we go to bed, then DH and I dress it together. I have to break the fact that the bed is bare to DH very very gently - he bloody hates dressing beds.

All the duvets in ourhouse are flicked back neatly and left like that to let the beds air properly.

WhereMyMilk · 02/03/2012 16:33

Hospitable not hospital Blush

HettyKett · 02/03/2012 16:33

How does that work the blushing? I use fitted sheets and get plenty of crinkles.

cakewench · 02/03/2012 16:33

I'll be honest, it's rare that I make the bed as soon as I wake up (though will usually put the duvet straight etc) however if I haven't made the bed I will still do so before going to sleep. :)

This is more applicable in places where I have a top sheet and duvet, like back home in the US. I like to have the top sheet tucked in properly, if it's there. Here in the UK we don't have a top sheet (DH is from Germany and they tend to just have duvets with covers, so have become used to that) so it's not really applicable.

Sparklingbrook · 02/03/2012 16:34

I have to pull the bottom sheet tight, again after I get up. then turn back the duvet and open the window to air the bed.

Window cleaners can see your unmade beds. Grin

CailinDana · 02/03/2012 16:34

Bad news wheresmymilk - if you're unlucky enough to have bed bugs no amount of airing will stop them thriving.

OP posts:
blushingcrow · 02/03/2012 16:34

I must lay flatter than you Grin

HolyNoSheDittantBatman · 02/03/2012 16:36

No YANBU. Making beds is a waste of time, like ironing.

hocuspontas · 02/03/2012 16:36

If we are not in it it's airing.
Although at the moment our en-suite is being redone so I pull the covers up when the plumber's coming. The bed doesn't know what's hit it.

CailinDana · 02/03/2012 16:36

Oh that reminds me, I must find a window cleaner Blush

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 02/03/2012 16:37

But if you were to go missing in mysterious circumstances a photograph of your bedroom would be printed in the Daily Mail. Fact. Shock

WhereMyMilk · 02/03/2012 16:37

That's where you cheat and but all the anti-bedbugs pillows, duvets and mattress covers you can find! Dunelm has done well out of me!

Still air the bed and then make it though :o
