ROFL at this thread!

My mum came round the other day with some shopping as I was ill with a tummy bug and couldn't get out. She stuck her head round the door of DD's room and announced in horror:

"Oh, your poor little girl - you haven't made her bed!"

I'm fairly sure my 7yo is (like me and DH) really not that bothered...

chipmunksex · 02/03/2012 18:54

yanbu we just crawl out.

The beds get straightened before we get in. Grin

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 02/03/2012 19:07

Grin at Pascha. If I recall correctly, Chalet School girls had to strip the bed, throw the covers over the balcony to air, hump the mattress (immature Grin) to allow air to pass underneath it and then go down to Fruhstuck. Oh, and throw up their cubicle curtains so the air could circulate through the room. After brekker they had to remake the beds. I have never before wondered what they did with the sheets and plumeaux if it was snowing or raining.

Oh I make the bed, I feel icky getting into an unmade bed. My DH has started doing it too.

I do no iron though.

  1. Their arm are too short.
LittleBoxes · 02/03/2012 19:35

I have major slatternly tendencies in most areas but I just CAN'T get into an unmade bed. It's the only thing I'm pernickety about.

  1. It's where they read / chill out, their own space in the home.

and turn the mattress every other day, TooImmature Grin

Was it Eustacia who had to be stitched into her plumeaux because she considered them unsavoury and unhygienic?

fatherchewylouis · 02/03/2012 20:45

Iggly????

Iggly · 02/03/2012 23:34

Ok so maybe I do make the bed. To me the phrase means duvet pulled up! I don't bother as like sheets to be cool anyway when I get in.

Boomerwang · 03/03/2012 02:44

As you can see I don't bother to make my bed either. I usually have an afternoon nap and I cba to keep tidying it up. I only make it when I change the sheets, which is approx once a month.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 03/03/2012 05:19

I make it before I get in it at night. It's psychological see. Making the bed in the morning means facing the fact that I've finished with it for the time being. And that depresses me. If I leave it unmade I can kid myself that I'm getting back in in a minute.

toofattorun · 03/03/2012 05:39

I don't know why I bothered all this time! I was only doing it because everyone else was! I even dress the bed with 5 extra cushions an' shit.
