I don't post in feminism but I do occassionally read threads.

There was a thread asking why more women don't get involved. I know I'm far from alone on MN in thinking it's because of the type of behaviour slides to in this thread.

I post in feminism a lot, so I should know who the "little group" are.

I haven't ever seen anyone post in chat or anywhere else with a deliberate idea of pushing an agenda, while pretending they aren't.

I have seen people on sensitive threads spouting a load of bollocks, and getting pulled up on it by most of MN and then saying it's evil feminist harpies wot dun it. That's just paranoia though

I don't think feminists have any more of an agenda that those who support the status quo do. Neither want the other sides posts to be the only one on the thread, I think. That's not surprising, is it?

It's all just opinion, anyway. Apart from the facts that are thrown into the mix sometimes. And questions that are posed. And both often ignored but .

Rhinos, you're missing my point. None of the radfems (to use your term there) were deleted on that strip club thread. So explain how they were bullying? Sigmund was deleted. She did 2 posts that were personal attacks on another poster - one still stands ("Fuck you"), but the other, more personally abusive one was deleted by MN.

I also witnessed Sigmund's little bit of nastiness on a relationships thread, where a poster was really distressed about her dp visiting a strip club. Sigmund just would not shut up about how she thought strip clubs were ok. She's entitled to that opinion, sure, but to keep on and on about it on a relationships thread, where op is going through a horrible time, and has made it clear she doesn't want to discuss the rights and wrongs of stripclubs, is not cricket in my book. Admittedly, she was not the only one to do this.

I've lost count of the times feminists have told other people, that it's not our job to educate them - they can go and do their own research and reading and we're happy to help with recommendations if that's what they want, but um, no, I'm not going to spend an hour explaining something that has been explained a million times that that poster isn't really interestd in hearing.

Basically, people are just pissed off that feminists are posting on a website where Normal Good Women may be Infected by their Dangerous Views.

Especially the "oh he's probably feeling stressed, relationships take work (on the woman's part)" brigade.

Beach and I sorted it after her very last post, it was miscommunication and she was very kind to me. There is no problem there.
