...vile?

It's not so bad in RL but when I read it on here, I 'hear' it in a certain way that makes my skin crawl and take an instant and irrational dislike to the poster.

Anyone else or is it just me?

Hear it in a soft Edinburgh lilt, an accent I have no other issues with!

mildmannered I also hate the word 'moist'

No idea why, just don't like the sound of it Confused

WorraLiberty · 15/02/2012 13:01

I like the word vile

I don't like it when I hear it in my head as being said by Vicky Beckham for some reason.

I remember seeing her on TV saying Dave likes Pie and Mash but she thinks it's vile.

And it was just the way she kind of 'squeaked' it that I can't remove from my head Grin

catgirl1976 · 15/02/2012 13:02

Grin I don't have a soft Edinburgh lilt but will now also alway hear the word "vile" that way now, so the word is ruined for me

I shall revert to "hideous" - is that ok?

Megatron · 15/02/2012 13:04

I see your 'vile' and raise you 'gusset', 'genre' and 'vulgar'.

WorraLiberty · 15/02/2012 13:04

God they're getting worse.

Vulva
Caress
Tight

Tight may seem a strange one but my MIL will insist on saying something along the following lines: 'oh yes, that's a lovely shoe it will look super with a nice tan coloured tight'. You see my point I'm sure.

TheParan0idAndr0id · 15/02/2012 13:15

I hate how its over used on here, it seems to be applied for anything at all. Its a strong word.

Megatron · 15/02/2012 13:16

I don't know Vivian I just can't stand it, I have no idea why! Grin

catgirl1976 · 15/02/2012 13:16

oh god

tight as the singular of tights :(

the horror....it is........well.........it's vile :)

Megatron · 15/02/2012 13:18

She does it a lot catgirl. She will refer to a lovely shoe, a super trouser or a splendid sock. It makes me want to punch myself in the head.

catgirl1976 · 15/02/2012 13:20

Oh Megatron :(

Am in awe of your self-restraint :) am not sure I could cope with that

WorraLiberty · 15/02/2012 13:20

Frocks and panties to the lot of you! Grin

I think we're doing the OP a great service because by the time she reads these replies, 'vile' will be the least of her worries.....
